All structural repairs must be performed prior to the application of ALEXIT BladeRep products. Old coatings must have good adhesion and chemical resistance and must be sanded with 120 grit.
ALEXIT BladeRep Profile Filler 3 Solvent-free, two-component polyurethane based filler designed to be used for filling and fairing on GRP substrates. Non-porous filler cures into an easily sandable surface. Mixing Ratio * Pour entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly Pot Life 5-10 minutes at 73 F (23 C) by putty knife Coverage Approx. 0.35 sqm/kit @ 500µm DFT, or 3.75 sqft @ 20 mil DFT Drying Time Before Sanding 2 hrs until manual sanding, at 73 F (23 C) 3 hrs until mechanical sanding, at 73 F (23 C) Prior to applying BladeRep Profile Filler 3, sand the surface with 120 grit paper. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and other contamination. Prior to application, mix entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly. Apply by putty knife as needed. Do not exceed 3/8 (5mm) film thickness with this product. Allow product to dry to a sandable stage and sand with 120 grit. After the surface is faired and smooth, you may proceed to the BladeRep LEP 9 or Blade Rep Topcoat 12. If the surface has imperfections, such as pin holes, use BladeRep Pore Filler 6 to achieve a defect-free, smooth surface.
ALEXIT BladeRep Pore Filler 6 Solvent-free, two-component polyurethane filler designed to seal any surface prior to applying LEP 9 or Topcoat 12. Fills pin holes and minor defects on GRP substrates and cures to an easily sandable surface. Mixing Ratio * Pour entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly Pot Life 5-10 minutes at 73 F (23 C) by putty knife Coverage Approx. 2.0 sqm/kit @ 100µm DFT (when used as a fine putty), or 20 sqft @ 4 mil DFT Drying Time Before Sanding 2 hrs until manual sanding, at 73 F (23 C) 3 hrs until mechanical sanding at 73 F (23 C) Sand the surface with 120 grit paper prior to applying BladeRep Pore Filler 6. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and other contamination. Prior to application, mix entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly. Apply by putty knife as needed. Do not exceed 1/32 (1mm) film thickness with this product. Allow product to dry to a sandable stage and sand with 120 grit. After the surface is faired and smooth, you may proceed to the BladeRep LEP 9 or BladeRep Topcoat 12 as required.
ALEXIT BladeRep LEP 9 Specifically designed to protect leading edge areas where a coating with excellent abrasion and erosion resistance is required. This two-component, solvent-free polyurethane product has superior elasticity and flexibility for long-term leading edge protection. Mixing Ratio * Pour entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly Pot Life 5-10 minutes at 73 F (23 C) by foam roller Coverage Approx. 1.0 sqm/kit @ 200µm DFT, or 10 sqft @ 8 mil DFT Film Thickness (2 Coats Required) Drying Time Before Over-Coating 100-125 µm (4-5 mils) per coat, at 73 F (23 C) Flash-off between coats: 45 min. at 73 F (23 C) 60 minutes at 73 F (23 C) Sand the surface with 120 grit paper prior to applying BladeRep LEP 9. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and other contamination. The use of a staggered two tape line technique will soften or reduce the tape line edge. By staggering the tape line an 1/8 (3mm) to create a step down, you will be able to reduce the tape line when removing the first layer of tape between applications. Prior to application, mix entire hardener into base material and mix thoroughly. Apply two coats of BladeRep LEP 9 by foam roller. Allow a flash-off time of 45 minutes between coats at 73 F (23 C). Allow product to dry a minimum of 60 minutes at 73 F (23 C) before applying BladeRep Topcoat 12. After 24 hours, sanding is required prior to application of BladeRep Topcoat 12. If a smoother surface is desired, sand the BladeRep LEP 9 with 120 grit.
ALEXIT BladeRep Topcoat 12 Designed specifically for coating blades where a superior product with chemical, UV, abrasion and mechanical resistance is required. This two-component polyurethane topcoat meets or exceeds OEM standards and provides applicators with the ideal product for blade repairs. Color Shades ** RAL 2009 Orange, RAL 7035 Gray, RAL 9010 White Mixing Ratio * Puncture lid, empty hardener into base material and mix thoroughly Pot Life Approximately 120 minutes at 73 F (23 C) by foam roller Coverage Approx. 2.5 sqm/kit @ 150µm DFT, or 27 sqft @ 6 mil DFT Film Thickness (2 Coats Required) Sand the surface with 120 grit paper prior to applying BladeRep Topcoat 12. The surface must be clean, dry and free from dust, grease, oil and other contamination. BladeRep Topcoat 12 may be applied over all BladeRep products and/or any properly prepared surface. Prior to mixing, shake vigorously by hand for 1 minute. Puncture both container lids, empty entire hardener into base and mix thoroughly. Apply two coats of BladeRep Topcoat 12 by foam roller. Allow a flash-off time of 45 minutes between coats at 73 F (23 C). After application of BladeRep Topcoat 12, no additional process is required before the blade can be put into operation. 100-125 µm (4-5 mils) per coat, at 73 F (23 C) Flash-off between coats: 45 min. at 73 F (23 C) Drying Time 8 hours at 73 F (23 C) ** Additional colors available upon request
