THE 3Ts ALL IRELAND GOLF TOURNAMENT 2017 Raising Awareness of the Issue of Suicide & Supporting 3Ts Suicide Prevention Initiatives RULES AND CONDITIONS ENTRY: The Pro-Am is open to all Members and Registered Trainees attached to Golf Clubs within the PGA in Ireland. The Qualifiers, National and Grand Finals will be played under the R&A Rules of Golf, the PGA Local Rules of the venue being played and PGA Tournament Rules. TEAMS: Team consists of Mens Captain (or the alternative choice of the Mens Vice Captain), PGA professionals and the winners of both the Mens and Ladies Competitions, run in conjunction with an existing club event or as a new competition. Winning teams and handicaps must be submitted by Monday, 31st July 2017, together with entry fees and completed entry form. It is a condition of entry that the dates of play of the club competitions and names of all competitors in both the Mens and Ladies club competitions must be submitted to the 3Ts on the Amateur Entry Sheet which must accompany the Club Entry form and entry fee. In the event that the Club does not have a PGA Professional, the committee will be entitled to nominate one of its members to represent the Club together with the Mens Captain and the other two team members. All team members will also need to have participated in the Club competition. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older. Entry fees cannot be put towards Club Prizes. All entry fees must be sent to the 3Ts. HANDICAPS: GUI Handicaps to be used but in cases where there is no GUI handicap, the 3Ts and PGA will consult and agree. TEES: Male Professionals and Amateurs will play from the Mens medal tees. Lady Amateurs will play Ladies Course. Lady Professionals will play a course which is not less than 10% or more than 14% shorter than the total course yardage of the course played by the male Professionals. The Tournament Director will vary tees as necessary to ensure the fairness of the holes and event. SCORING: The tournament is an 18 hole stableford event for Teams of 1 Professional and 3 Amateurs (best two nett scores at each hole counting unless otherwise stated). In the event of a tie for a team prize winning position there will be a card play-off. PRESENTATIONS: The prize presentation will be held in the Clubhouse as soon as possible after completion of play. The leading three teams are required to attend the prize presentation. Please check in recording if you are involved in presentation. It is a mandatory function for the Professionals with the three leading teams to attend the Prize Presentation. PROFESSIONAL PRIZE-FUND: There will be a Prizefund for the Qualifiers and National Final. In the event of a tie for leading positions, prize money will be shared. All prize money is subject to 10% PGA levy. AMATEUR PRIZES: Amateurs in the leading three teams will receive prizes in the Qualifiers and National Final. In the event of a tie for leading positions, there will be a card play-off decider as follows: Lowest net score on holes 10-18 and if still a tie; Lowest net score on holes 13-18 and if still a tie; Lowest net score on holes 16-18 and if still a tie; Lowest net score on 18th hole and if still a tie; Sudden death card play-off starting at hole no.1 THE PGA RESERVES THE RIGHT TO AMEND THESE CONDITIONS AT ANY TIME
3Ts Golf Tournament 2017 Play in the Tournament Final at the K Club for 10 & Help Save a Life! November 2016 Dear Secretary Manager, 2017 is the 15 th year of the 3Ts Golf Tournament, supported by tournament Patron & Ambassador, Padraig Harrington. In this time, over 45,000 golfers have participated in this annual event and, once again, we invite your club to enter. We expect at least 3,500 Irish golfers to participate this year at club level, each in with a chance to play the K Club Ryder Cup Course in the Final. We are getting our literature out in plenty of time for next year s event to make the event bigger and better, and we hope that you might include us in your Club s calendar for 2017. 3 times more people die by suicide than die on our roads, yet suicide prevention receives only a fraction of the budget spent on road safety. 3Ts is a registered charity founded in 2003 to raise awareness of the issue of suicide through research, intervention & support. Through our Golf Tournament, we work to help remove the stigma around suicide & mental health. 3Ts have over the years commissioned & supported vital research which, it is hoped, will help inform future suicide prevention strategies. Our fundraising provides assistance to frontline organisations, large & small, working in suicide prevention, intervention & post-vention. During 2016, we have forged new relationships with third level colleges, working with welfare officers and student unions on mental health & suicide prevention initiatives with students. We are accredited safetalk training providers (suicide awareness for everyone) and also provide tailored 3tsTALK mental health workshops on mental health topics. We collaborate with other groups and since 2014 have been in a partnership with fellow charity, Parents Plus on an innovative programme promoting positive mental health in families. Our 3Ts Self Help elibrary, is a free to download online resource, providing useful help and information across a broad range of topics related to mental health including depression, self-harm, anxiety, stress, bereavement and many more. These easy to access booklets are available from 3ts.ie. The 3Ts Golf Tournament is a four-person competition and this year the Men s Captain leads the team comprising: Men s Captain (the automatic choice this year); Club Professional: (if there is one, alternatively another club member who participates in the club competition); The winner of the Ladies 3Ts Club Competition; The winner of the Men s 3Ts Club Competition; Format throughout the tournament is Stableford, full handicaps, two scores to count. Please remember: It can be run in conjunction with a Club competition or can be a separate competition. It does not have to be a separate event; The entry fee to the 3Ts Tournament is 10 for each participant; Participants must be over 18 years of age; If a substitution is necessary, it is essential that the party selected participated in & paid entry fee for the 3Ts competition. Each club team will proceed to one of the following provincial finals with green fees and a meal provided: 5 Sept Co Tipperary Golf & Country Club Dundrum House Regional Qualifiers proceed to the NATIONAL FINAL at the K Club 25 Sept Slieve Russell Hotel Golf & Country Club, Co Cavan Ryder Cup Course in October. 26 Sept St Margaret s Golf & Country Club Dublin A fourth regional venue may be added subject to demand.
