Photo Reproduction Tips We want your photo to look sharp and clear in your ad. In order to ensure a quality reproduction, here are some helpful guidelines when picking out a photo: Choose a high-quality photo that is free from damage. Blurry photos will also appear blurry in the paper. Digital photos are preferable and should be at least 200 dpi to ensure quality image reproduction. Email digital photos to dedications@fayobserver.com Be sure the people in the photo are at least as large as they are to appear in the ad. Re-sized photos often lose their detail and sharpness. Photos from sources like newspapers, copies, computer print outs, signs or textured paper are unsuitable for quality image reproduction. The Fayetteville Observer will not accept photos in frames with glass. Scanning such photos leaves an unwanted glare. We will not remove photos from a glass frame. All photos must be picked up within two weeks of ad publication. The Fayetteville Observer is not responsible for photos after that point. If you would like your photo returned by mail, please leave a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (We are not responsible for photos lost or damaged by the post office.) If the customer is unable to leave the photo for scanning, The Fayetteville Observer will require two hours to scan the photo. Ad Guidelines Due to the strict deadlines of newspapers, we have to follow some guidelines for our Dedications ads: The customer is responsible for the text in the ad. We have provided several examples and prompts to help if needed, but customers should make the final decision. We make every effort to proof the ad to our clients, including by Email, fax or in person at the One-Stop desk, unless proof not required is selected on the order form. It is the responsibility of the client to respond to the proof if there are any changes. If there is no response by deadline, the ad will run as designed. We make every effort to catch any errors, however, if a customer approves an ad and later discovers a error, The Fayetteville Observer will not re-print an ad or issue a refund. 4

Memorial Prompts In (loving) Memory, (Mr.) John Doe Jr. 1 Jan. 1900-1 Jan. 2000 You are always in our hearts. You were taken from us year(s) ago, but your memories are alive with us. Not a day goes by that we don t still miss you and love you. Your loving family, In (loving) Memory, (Mr.) John Doe Jr. 1 Jan. 1900-1 Jan. 2000 (On your birthday[with love]) Today would be your birthday. We weren t ready to let you go. Though years have passed, we still miss you. Your spirit lives on in our hearts forever. We love you, and we are thankful for the time we had with you. Your loving family, Poems: A Million Times Author: unknown A million times we ve needed you, A million times we ve cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. If all the world was ours to give, We would give it yes, and more, To see you coming up the steps, And walking through the door. To hear your voice and see your smile, To sit and talk a while, To be with you that same old way, Would be our fondest day. A heart of gold stopped beating, Two smiling eyes closed to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. GOD S GARDEN God looked around His garden and He found an empty place. And then He looked down upon the earth, and saw your tired face. He put His arms around you, and lifted you to rest. God s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, and whispered Peace be thine. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn t go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. author unknown 14
