UAA also made it eight straight years with a winning Great Northwest Athletic Conference record -- going 11-9 and finishing tied for 4th -- and kept alive its streak of qualifying for every GNAC Tournament since it was founded in 2011... in addition to season sweeps of longtime rivals Alaska Fairbanks, MSU Billings, the Seawolves closed their 40-year GCI Great Alaska Shootout history with another win over a Div. I program, beating Santa Clara in an overtime thriller. SOCIAL MEDIA: Check @UAAMBB for updates throughout the year. TEAM NOTES: The Seawolves led the GNAC and ranked 4th in NCAA Div. II in scoring defense at 62.6 points per game, crushing the program record of 65.6 ppg allowed in 2006-07... UAA also led the league in FG% allowed (.419) and ranked 2nd in FT% (.746)... this year s team earned the program s 13th straight winning season and the 35th in 41 years... the Seawolves have earned eight straight winning GNAC records and qualifi ed to the GNAC Tournament every year since its founding in 2011... UAA s 44-43 win over UAF on Feb. 20 marked the fewest points ever scored by the Seawolves in a victory, topping the 45-38 thriller from Dec. 1999 at Western New Mexico. SENIORS SURGING: With Jacob Lampkin sidelined, Sr. G/F D.J. Ursery led UAA in scoring (12.0 ppg) and rebounding (6.0 rpg), holding GNAC top- 20 ranks in each category... along with his UAA season-high 23 points in the loss to Seattle Pacifi c, the L.A. native twice earned GNAC Player of the Week honors, for his double-double in the win at Concordia in December and his performances in the February 20 & 24 wins over UAF (14 pts/10 rebs/3 stls, GW jumper) and MSUB (16 pts)... Ursery scored double fi gures a team-high 16 times, and grabbed at least eight rebounds on eight occasions... a 6.0 Peterson ppg scorer in 71 career contests with the Tigers, Ursery was one of just two non-returning GNAC players to make the Preseason All-GNAC Team... after averaging just 2.8 ppg through the fi rst eight games, Sr. G Drew Peterson got healthy and hit his stride, tallying six of his seven double-digit outputs after Jan. 4, and leading the Seawolves 2017-18 Seawolf Men s Basketball Roster No. Name Pos.
