TWO-PART SELECTION PROCESS PART I: TRY-OUT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS In rder t be cnsidered eligible t try-ut, a candidate must meet the fllwing preliminary eligibility requirements: 1. Candidates must be enrlled in grades 9-11 and currently enrlled in their CFISD designated schl in rder t try ut. 2. ATTENDANCE: Candidates must nt have missed mre than 8 days f ANY class r full days f schl during the 2018-2019 schl year. 3. CONDUCT: Candidates must have cnduct grades f all S's and E's and n mre than a ttal f tw I's fr all six weeks cmpleted. A "U" in cnduct results in ineligibility. 4. DISCIPLINE RECORD: N placement in Alternative Learning Center; N suspensins; N mre than (2) assignments t DMC/Saturday D-Hall (fr instances ther than tardies); utside criminal activity r any act punishable by law. Handbks will be available with the tryut packet frm Jan. 29 Feb. 2 nd. Returning cheerleaders will take the exam during 7 th perid. Yu must pass the exam in rder t be eligible fr tryuts. Yu will be ntified f yur tryut eligibility by Friday February 9 th. 2. CLASSROOM PERFORMANCE RECORDS Each f yur current teachers will be asked t cmplete a classrm perfrmance recrd. PREP CLINIC the clinic is intended fr candidates wh wuld like t have extra practice prir t tryuts by reviewing basic skills, jumps, and techniques with current cheerleaders. The clinic will be held February 26 th and 28 th and the cst is $20. The prep clinic is nt mandatry, but strngly encuraged fr any new cheerleaders. 8. Physical Requirements (cheerleaders) Mats will be prvided during tryuts and each candidate must perfrm a tumbling series that displays their best tumbling abilities. This includes running and/r standing tumbling. Additinally, each candidate will be required t perfrm a te tuch and tw ther jumps f their chice. Each candidate will perfrm a dance and a cheer that is taught at the clinic. 10. SELECTION Bth Varsity and Junir Varsity candidates will be selected by judges scres (80%) and class perfrmance recrd (20%). Scres will be tabulated and results will be revealed and psted n the Cy Creek Website (under student life >> activities >> cheer) at 3:00 n Friday, March 9 th. 11.
