SPORTS INFORMATION GUIDE 1. Competition Dates The archery competition for the Asia Pacific Masters Games 2018 (APMG 2018) offers each athlete the opportunity to compete in multiple disciplines at the games. The provisional Archery competition schedule for APMG 2018 is as follows: 7/9 Fri 8/9 Sat 9/9 Sun 10/9 Mon 11/9 Tue 12/9 Wed 0830-1200 Collection Participation Accreditatio n Pass at Setia Spice 1300-1600 *1530-1630 Managers Meeting at Setia Spice Official Practice Official Practice * Medal Ceremony Remarks: - A (age 30-39): (men/women) and (men/women) - B (age 40-49): (men/women) and (men/women) - C (age 50-59): (men/women) and (men/women) - D (age 60 +): (men/women) and (men/women) The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Saturday 8 September 2018 with the Closing Ceremony on the evening of Saturday 15 September 2018. All dates and times are subject to change, pending final entries received. A detailed schedule for each age category will be developed throughout 2017 and early 2018. 1

Competition Format The events, divisions and categories for Archery at APMG 2018 are as follows: Event Discipline Competition Format Age Categories Archery OutdoorTarget and A Women s : 30-39 Men's : 30-39 B Women s : 40-49 Men's : 40-49 C Women s : 50-59 Men's : 50-59 D Women s : 60+ Men's : 60+ If there are insufficient entries in an age category, the category may be combined in order to conduct a viable competition. The awarding of medals will not be affected, that is individuals will still be awarded medals in the age category in which they originally entered. For the Games, your age is determined as at 31 December 2018. 3. 4. Competition Details 4.1. Competition Rules The rules covering the rounds to be shot, equipment, clothing, advertising, and scoring for Target will be those of World Archery. 4.2. Hours of Competition The Target event will begin with Practice at 0800hrs. All events are expected to finish at approximately 1700hrs. 4.3. Competition Format Athletes will be shooting in the OutdoorTarget discipline. Archers will shoot one type of bow at the nominated venue. Only one bow type can be used per discipline. An athlete must shoot in their actual age group. 4.4. s and Distances Only individual events will be shot. All archery athletes must participate in the QUALIFICATIONROUND for ranking. The 70m (36 arrows x 2 rounds) (60m for category D) will be for archers, while 50m (36 arrows x 2 rounds) will be for the archers. Registration and Medals Where possible some events will be combined to reduce session times. The top three athletes in each age category for each event will be awarded competition medals only for the. The medals presentation ceremony will be held on the same day after the completion of an event.
Each archery participant in APMG2018 can register up to a maximum of 3 events. 4.6. Technical Delegate Asia Pacific Archery has endorsed the appointment of CHONG YAP JIN (MAS) to act in the role of Technical Delegate for the APMG2018 Archery competition. The Technical Delegate will oversee the implementation of all sport specific rules and requirements at the games. 5. Equipment 5.1. Equipment Checks All athletes are required to supply their own equipment and ensure it complies with the relevant rules. Equipment checks will be carried out by the Technical Delegate / Technical Officials. Athletes with non-conforming equipment will not be able to compete. For the APMG Archery competition, the usage of longbow and barebow by athletes will be accepted. However, there are no separate events for these two types of bows, and the athletes using them will enter the recurve competition. APMG2018 will provide Target venues to appropriate World Archery rules including target butts, target faces and timing equipment. 5.2. Archery Equipment on Public Transport Archery equipment can be taken on Penang Transport buses provided it is carried in a specialized case or bag. Anyone carrying archery equipment not in a case or bag could be denied access to public transport. 6. Sports Attire For Asia Pacific Archery events, no camouflage clothing may be worn. For all events, footwear must completely close the feet,sandals and similar items will not be permitted. Advertising on clothing and personal Archery equipment must comply with Asia Pacific Archery rules.
7. Training and Practice Facilities Saturday 8thSeptember 2018 is the official practice day for all events and age categories. There will be targets at appropriate distances available at all venues. There will be Archery Malaysia Judges present at all venues to facilitate the inspection of athletes equipment and clothing where necessary. The practice facilities is open from 0830hrs to 1200hrs and from 1400hrs to 1630hrs. Athletes will be able to move freely around the Target venues. 8. Registration / Check-in Athletes must arrive at least 60 minutes prior to their start to allow time for registration and equipment inspection. 9. Accommodation The APMG 2018 organisers recommend the following selected hotels for archery participants based on location and accessibility to the competition venue: - Sentral Georgetown Hotel - Royal Hotel - Gurney Hotel - Red Rock Hotel However, participants are free to selecttheir own accommodation according to their own preference. 10.2. Important Documents APMG2018 recommend that all athletes thoroughly read and print their Sports Information Guide, Transport Information Guide and any other relevant materials (ie. Course Maps), as these materials will not be available at the Competition Venue or Accreditation Centre.
