Selected students went through a selection process that included a nomination and interviews. These students will run for office, learn public speaking, create and enforce laws and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government in this summer program. They beat Capistrano Valley 7-1 to move on to the Championship game. The Beat Mission Viejo 7-2 to take the VARSITY D2 CHAMPIONSHIP. Congratulations to the Team for playing 2 back to back games, and winning both. Pacifica High left fielder Tommy Monahan is one of the leading hitters in Orange County this season. Our boys baseball varsity team beat Santa Margarita on Tuesday 4-0. The game was played at Angel stadium in Anaheim. Chase Coulombe threw a complete game shutout. Tommy Monahan went 3-3. They lost to Martin Luther King High on Saturday in the opening game of the lion s tournament 8-2. Tommy Monahan had a hit and an RBI and Joesph Ortiz had 2 hits and a stolen base. They beat Romona in the second game on Saturday 6-0. Caleb Vaughn got the start and threw 5 shutout innings. Luis Plaza finished the final two innings. Damien Banks had 2 hits and 3 RBI. Keagan Kloss had 2 hits and an RBI. Tommy Monahan scored 2 runs and had 2 stolen bases. Their overall record is 5-8. Our JV team did not play. Their record is 3-5-1. Our Frosh team did not play. Their overall record is 7-2. Varsity will play this Monday vs. West Covina at Pacifica and will play on Tuesday vs. St John Bosco also at Pacifica. JV will play on April 4th in the foothill tournament. Frosh will play on April 4th in the foothill tournament. Please come out and support our team. Our Varsity softball team beat Foothill on Tuesday 8-0. Their overall record is 5-4. Varsity will next play in the Michelle Carew Classic at Canyon high school beginning on April 1st. Please come out and support our defending CIF champion softball program! Swim Our girls varsity swim team beat Kennedy on Tuesday 91-78. Their league record is 1-1. Our boys varsity swim team lost to Kennedy on Tuesday 83-86. Their league record is 0-2. Our girls JV swim team lost to Kennedy on Tuesday 62-87. Their league record is 0-2. Our boys JV swim team beat Kennedy on Tuesday 79-72. Their league record is 1-1. Swim will next compete vs. Tustin High School on Tuesday, April 14th at Tustin at 3 pm. Please come out and support our teams! Track Our Boys Varsity track team beat Tustin on Thursday 68-50. Jacob Smith came in 1st place in the 1600 and 3200 and came in 3rd in the 800. Tristan Williams came in 1st place in the 110 and 300 hurdles. Tanner Way came in 1st place in both the long jump and triple jump. Weston Ellis came in 1st place in the 100, 200 and shot put. He ran a 10.8 100 meter and a 22.3 200 meter. Their league record is 3-0. Our girls varsity track team beat Tustin on Thursday 82.5-43.5. Nikala Andreasen came in 1st place in the 400, 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay, 1st place in the 200, and 1st place in the 4 x 400. Charlotte Kraushaar came in 1st in the long jump and 1st in the high jump. Alexa Riddle came in 1st place in the 4 x 100 relay, 1st place in the 100, and 2nd place in the 200, and 1st in the 4 x 400 relay. Their league record is 2-1. Our boys frosh team lost to Tustin on Thursday 20-97. Their league record is 0-3. Our girls team lost to Tustin on Thursday 48-67. Their league record is 1-1. The next track meet will be Thursday, April 16th vs. Western High School at Pacifica at 3 pm. Boys Volleyball Our boys volleyball varsity team beat Western on Tuesday in 3 sets 25-21, 25-22, and 25-17. They also beat Valencia on Thursday in 3 sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-21. Their overall record is 7-8 and they have a 2-0 league record. Our JV team lost to Western on Tuesday in 3 sets 21-25, 25-16 and 17-19. They also lost to Valencia on Thursday in 2 sets. Their overall record is 2-5 and they have a league record of 0-2. Our Frosh team did not play. Their overall record is 1-3. Varsity will play next vs. El Dorado at El Dorado High School on Thursday after JV. JV plays on Thursday at El Dorado after JV. Frosh plays on Thursday at El Dorado at 3:30.
