Children age six (6) and under shall be physically with/supervised by a person age sixteen (16) or older at all times. Explanation: By age 7, children are typically in 1 st or 2 nd grade of elementary school and are allowed more independence. At this age they also have a better understanding of safety issues this facility has. From a safety standpoint it is felt the younger ages need closer constant supervision. All children this age must wear a wristband. Children who cannot swim shall have a person age sixteen (16) or older with them in the water. Explanation: Simply a common sense safety measure. Individuals with a communicable disease, infections, open cuts, or who have had diarrhea in the past two weeks shall not be permitted into the water park. Explanation: Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services Chapter HFS 172 code (From now on referred to as DHFS Code 172) A person under the influence of alcohol or exhibiting erratic behavior shall not be permitted. Explanation: DHFS Code 172 Water and sand play area users should wear a swimsuit. Metal, of any kind, shall not be exposed on the exterior of swim clothes. Clothes shall be clean. Explanation: Wearing a swim suit provides a more sanitary environment as well as safe one. Excess clothing can have a negative impact during a rescue. Metal objects can create damage to pool and feature surfaces. Under circumstance of religious customs it should be allowed. Foot apparel worn outside of the water park is not allowed in the water. Only aqua socks or aqua shoes are allowed in the water. Explanation: Sanitation purposes. No regular, cloth or disposable diapers are allowed within the water park. All children that wear diapers or are not toilet trained shall wear a swim diaper. A swimsuit shall cover the diaper. Swim diapers can be purchased at the admissions window. Diaper changing on the pool deck is prohibited. Explanation: Use of swim diapers are required as they are specially made to withhold the large amounts of water soaked up when in the pool. An additional suit is required to help hold in any leakage that could occur. The combination of the two help to prevent Recreational Waterborne Illness (RWI s) which could be deadly. This is also referenced in DHFS Code 172. No carry-ins of any kind are allowed, including coolers, glass, plastic or aluminum containers, or personal lawn chairs. Explanation: Operational choice of the owner/part DHFS Code 172 Carry-ins of flotation devices are not allowed, including water wings, inner tubes, noodles and swimsuits with built-in flotation devices. U.S. Coast Guard approved lifejackets, plastic masks, fins and kick-boards will be allowed. Explanation: Typically floatation devices are used by participants who can not swim.

A properly fitted USCG approved lifejacket is the next best defense to drowning beyond proper parental supervision and vigilant lifeguarding practices. This facility is a smoke, tobacco, and drug free environment. Explanation: DHFS Code 172-10- Pets are not allowed. Explanation: DHFS Code 172 Management reserves the right to ask those demonstrating inappropriate behavior to leave. Explanation: This is a community facility. The water park may be closed due to weather conditions, maintenance issues, low attendance, or special events. Explanation: The owner/operator has the right to close the facility when they see fit. Weather indicators are tracked hourly/daily. Maintenance issues will be handled as quickly as possible to insure the facility is always in full operation. A parent or person supervising young children should often inquire with those children about using the restroom. Explanation: Friendly suggestion.

A shower for everyone is mandatory before entering the water park, even after using the restroom. Explanation: DHFS Code 172. Though this is not strictly monitored by PCWP staff it must be posted per code. The use of cell phones is not allowed within the changing or restroom areas. Explanation: In today s society certain devices have their appropriate place for use. Due to the fact that PCWP does not have locker room attendants, in order to insure the privacy, security and safety of our patrons we ask that these are not utilized in this space. Implications of using camera phones to conduct inappropriate behavior is one example as to why these are prohibited in this area. This is becoming common protocol in locker room areas throughout the country. Water park management will not be responsible for lost or stolen personal property. Explanation: Each person takes full responsibility of properly securing their items when they are visiting the facility. Lockers are available for use. Locks can be purchased on site or the user may bring their own. -11- TAKE A SHOWER! Water users need to be wet before they walk through the door to the outside. Showers are mandatory after changing clothes, using the restroom, or re-entering water areas at any time. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendation. Note: If child is under 7 and should be with an adult due to age rule, adult should be near catch pool area waiting when they are done riding. Double riding is allowed for riders under 48 inches with a 16 year old or older and who is 48 inches tall to ride with them on the body slide. Chain riding is not permitted. Explanation: This is a safety concern therefore only 2 riders max under these conditions are permitted. See subsequent rules. We consider age 16 to be adult age for this environment (they can drive, be a lifeguard etc.).

Any child under 42 inches must ride with an adult on a single tube on the tube slide. Double tubes are not allowed. Explanation: To encourage a safe ride under these circumstances the riders must use a single tube. The smaller rider would not be able to ride in a double tube (due to size an ability to help control the tube). Note: There is the potential for 2 riders on a single tube to flip upon entering the water at the exit point. Riders between 42 and 48 inches tall may ride a double tube on the tube slide with a person that is 16 years of age or older and is 48 inches tall. Explanation: 42 inches is used as a marker as this is the height of the plunge area. 48 inches is the manufacturer recommendation height to ride alone. Therefore someone who falls in this range needs to be accompanied by an adult who is 48 inches tall or taller. They can only use a double tube. Walk up steps, no horseplay on the stairs or landings, and no skipping in line. Explanation: Safety, courtesy to others. No metal objects, locker keys, eye or sunglasses, goggles, jewelry, swim wear with exposed buckles, metal snaps, rivets or zippers, watches or lifejackets are permitted on the slides. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendation. This helps to preserve the surfaces from unnecessary wear and tear. All persons riding the body slide shall ride in a seated position, and shall exit feet first. Standing, kneeling, rotating, stopping, or sliding down headfirst is not allowed. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendations/dhfs Code 172. Hands shall be kept inside of the slides at all times. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendation. Pregnant women, and guests with heart conditions, neck or back problems, should not be riding this ride per manufacturer recommendations. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendation. Safety. A person under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to ride. Explanation: Safety. DHFS Code 172. Riders shall immediately exit the plunge area. Explanation: DHFS Code 172. WARNING: Plunge area water depth is 3 feet, 6 inches. HOW TALL ARE YOU? (signs will be posted for measuring height of riders according to the rules) -14- LAZY RIVER Riders of the river must obtain a tube at the storage area and shall enter and exit at designated areas.

Single tubes can be used by an adult with a younger child; a double tube can be used by 3 riders. All riders must fit on the tube. Explanation: Comparable to other facilities. A family of 4 can not ride on one, double tube. No exceptions. Riders shall be able to stand up safely if tipped off of a tube. Lifejackets are not permitted. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendation. Safety considerations. Tipping on purpose will not be tolerated. Riders shall have a tube with them at all times. Swimming or horseplay in the river is not allowed. Explanation: Manufacturer recommendations. Safety considerations, as it allows the lifeguards to be able to see everyone as they are to remain with a tube. It also keeps the flow of traffic moving consistently around the river. WARNING: The Lazy River water depth is 2 feet, 6 inches.
