CHESS MONDAY DODGE BALL Chess is an enjoyable lifetime activity for everyone! Beginners will learn to play a full game through to checkmate and learn how to write down their moves. More advanced players will learn advanced strategies and tactical ideas and win many more games! Kids are lining up to score touchdowns and get a taste of the most popular game in the country! Players will get a chance to be running backs, wide receivers, defensive ends, and corner backs. Learn to pass, catch, run routes and punt like the pros! We'll practice these skills while playing Button Hook, Down & Out, Pitch & Run and First & Ten. MATBALL TUESDAY GOLF An indoor, kickball-style game that combines elements of diamond sports games, such as baseball & softball, fitness, running, catching, and throwing. INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Mickel, OGS Gym Teacher CAPACITY: 26 ART WITH GOLD Art Adventures: Travel to Australia and Africa! From Kangaroos to Koalas, Crocodiles to Kookaburras, Dingos to Tasmanian Devils, the art of aboriginal people of Australia has focused on it's amazing animals. In this class, we will create paintings featuring such wonderful wildlife. The patterns of Aboriginal art will lead us from Australia to another continent of bold colors and patterns --- Africa! We will examine African masks and create our own using a variety of fun materials! INSTRUCTOR: Ms. Gold, OGS Art Teacher CAPACITY: 14 Students will learn to play golf in a safe and fun environment. All swing fundamentals, along with the rules and etiquette of the game will be covered. All equipment provided. INSTRUCTOR: Tom Blumenthal CAPACITY: 12 FLYING MACHINES All of the planes we are building in this class will be inspired by what aircraft of the future might be like! We ll get started by building our Starfighter, a special rubber band powered helicopter inspired by the TIE fighter ships from Star Wars! You ll really be able to open up your mind and dream up a cool flying machine from space! Next we ll fly the Air Victor, our very first ever remote control helicopter! The Spitfire is a super cool advanced plane that will help take our imagination to new heights! Those amazing models are just the beginning! In addition to building and flying cool model airplanes, we ll also learn about the history of flight, and what the future might hold! Don t miss out on the chance to become a flight expert for The Next Generation! FEE: $175 INSTRUCTOR: Hobby Quest CARTOONING Grades 2-5 CAPACITY: 15 Learn how to cartoon! We'll begin with the basics; students will first start by drawing different human facial expressions then progress to the human form, animals, landscape perspective, favorite popular cartoon characters and more. CRAZY 8 S MATH CLUB Before school 7:30-8:30** Math gone wild!! WEDNESDAY FIT KIDS CLASS Before school 7:50-8:30** Get those bodies moving before getting into the classroom! Crazy 8 s is a recreational BEFORE school (7:30-8:30) math club that helps students enjoy the math behind their favorite activities. This is nothing like your traditional math club! Students will build glow-in-the-dark structures, crack secret spy codes, and play games like toilet paper Olympics!! A cool new club designed to get your children fired up about Math! INSTRUCTOR: Ms. Webb, OGS Teacher KEMPO KARATE At Greenwich Kempo, we re passionate about building confidence, compassion, and community through martial arts. As professional ninjas, Power Rangers, and Jedi Knights, we teach skills and discipline that can ignite a passion within. What s more, we do it in a way that s both serious and seriously fun! FEE: $150 INSTRUCTOR: Sensai Jonathon Simon CAPACITY: 12 Students New this fall, OGS is offering a FIT KIDS class Wednesday BEFORE school (7:50-8:30). Kids will have the opportunity to burn off some early morning energy through structured games involving running and various body weight exercises. 4 weeks only!! DATES: 10/3, 10, 17, 24 FEE: $40 INSTRUCTOR: Claire Fuzesi, Ginny Hoffman, Linda Whitridge, OGS Mom s CHEER AND MOVE Students will have fun learning the basics of cheerleading with Greenwich Dance Arts professional teachers and make up their own cheers too!! Children will dance through the afternoon with a combo of hip hop, jazz, modern, and movement/creativity games. Warm ups and cool downs, with strength and stretching will also be taught to make this a class that will leave everyone cheering! FEE: $165 INSTRUCTOR: Greenwich Dance Arts CAPACITY: 12 Students

SEWING WEDNESDAY C tnd LITTLE MUSICIANS Grades 1-2 Sew Happy Sewing Tote Bag Project Join Sew Happy and learn the life skill of sewing while working on this adorable tote bag themed project. This club starts by teaching the basic techniques of sewing (like threading a needle and tying a knot) and progresses from there. We believe at Sew Happy that kids benefit from sewing in many ways. Not only is it great for hand/eye coordination, fine motor skills, focus and concentration, it also gives kids a lifetime vehicle for personal and creative expression! All Sew Happy projects are designed in-house, made in the USA and use felt made from recycled water bottles. FEE: $185 Little Musicians will introduce students to the origination of instruments from around the world and their history. They will learn the science of sound and variations of music and create sample instruments individually or as a team. Each lesson will have music theory for the specific instrument with a performance using their handmade instruments during the last session. CRITTER CARAVAN THURSDAY GYM GAMES Meet exotic animals from far away places and hold, pet, and feed little critters such as a chinchilla, hedgehog, various reptiles, and many more mammals. Students will create a safari journal to record their experiences and make an animal craft each week to take home. INSTRUCTOR: Critter Caravan BASKETBALL Fast Break Basketball 3-2-1 Swish! Join us for Fast Break Basketball where we ll cross-over between GAME PLAY and skills stations. The games within the game are where we will expose players to HOOPS skills like dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense. Test your abilities having fun scrimmaging or playing games like Dribble Scribble, King of the Court, Hot Shot Shooting, Knock Out, and MORE! Be ready to take that last second shot, make that extra pass, and block that go ahead basket while learning the fundamentals of Basketball and the concepts of team work. **This class is outside. INSTRUCTOR: Overtime Athletics Join the fun and get some exercise playing a variety of the greatest playground games ever! Games will be played outside when weather permits. INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Mickel, OGS Gym Teacher INVENTING WITH CIRCUITS Circuits are closed loops through which electrons, also known as electricity, travels. Circuits are used in devices all around us, from light switches to toasters to computers, and even cars! In this class MacInspires guides students through learning the specific elements of circuits and developing an understanding of key electricity concepts, such as voltage, resistors, LEDs, batteries and more. Create your own paper circuit art or robot and watch your creation come to life with electricity! Join this class to get your young student excited about STEM with littlebits circuits and allow them to master the power of inventing with electronics! FEE: $210 INSTRUCTOR: MacInspires

SINGING THURSDAY C tnd FUTURE PICASSOS In this class students will learn how to be a solo singer and perform a song of their choice (with guidance from Mrs. Kampler). Children will work on the correct way to sing by doing warm-ups as a group before working on their song choice. Students will be able to pick up tips and ideas by watching other students working with Mrs. Kampler this is called Workshop Model. During the final class, students will perform their song for the group and parents. INSTRUCTOR: Mrs. Kamplar, OGS Music Teacher Does your child love art? Do they love Art History and have the desire to learn how paintings are created? If so, Future Picasso art classes are a must! Designed to be taught to any age, students will be guided through the painting process that will not only teach your child about paint and how to apply it to the canvas. It will leave them with the knowledge of how to complete a painting and make a picture, become an art historian and learn fun and exciting art history facts. Picasso, Van Gogh, Monet, Cezanne, Matisse, and O Keefe are some of the few great master s whom students can choose from to design their custom art class.
