The Rhino brand has been synonymous with player preparation and performance for over 25 years, and Rhino-Turf draws on this heritage to offer the very best surface systems. Rhino-Turf is an exciting, state of the art, range of synthetic turf products designed in the UK, for the worldwide market. This means that we have consulted with users and owners and applied their feedback to our knowledge of the requirements of the games governing bodies FIFA, IRB, FIH and ITF to develop Rhino-Turf. We have additionally taken on board sound advice from leading synthetic turf consultants and test houses. So what do you want from your synthetic turf? Rhino-Turf offers the best yarns, made into high quality sports surfaces using the latest advanced technology. Rhino-Turf will offer incredible durability and performance over the life of the surface, and with no frills, provisos or restrictions, other than use it for what it is intended. In our experience every player wants to play on the best surface, in perfect conditions, and whilst we cannot recreate the atmosphere at Wembley Stadium, Twickenham or Centre Court, Wimbledon Centre Court, Rhino-Turf will make you feel like you are playing on the best money can buy. www.rhino-turf.com 1

THE RHINO-TURF OFFER Only the best is good enough. Which is why: Every Rhino-Turf sports surface is only installed by Rhino-Turf approved installers. Rhino-Turf works with the most advanced shock pads as part of a performance driven system. Rhino-Turf is only available through a select network of specialist sports contractors. Rhino-Turf value cannot be beaten: High quality yarns in a dense construction guarantees sports performance and best return on investment. Rhino-Turf systems are tested to the highest standards and kept there by our maintenance company. Long term recyclability or reuse is an essential consideration in the choice of materials used. Rhino-Turf offers peace of mind: Rhino-Turf s in house consultancy service ensures you get the most appropriate surface and system for your needs. Rhino-Turf carries out its own performance tests, verified by world leading test houses. Rhino-Turf is the safe surface, the safe choice and safe partner for your sports needs. PHILOSOPHY Rhino-Turf is an aspirational product for owners, managers and most importantly players. What makes it different is that the range is small, precise and exciting. Each Rhino-Turf product is installed by Rhino- Turf installers to the highest standards to ensure excellent performance and solid value Strength in Performance. Rather than offer a wide variety of products, which quite frankly can confuse, we have chosen to offer precisely what we have been asked for. Now that may sound obvious, but has not always been the case. In fact more football in the UK is played on hockey surfaces than on football ones. We offer football surfaces for football and hockey for hockey, whilst ensuring when dual usage is required the balance in performance is achieved. SPORT SYSTEMS Rhino-Turf is only part of the system, albeit the one you see, feel and play on. But underneath the choice of base and pad is essential to performance, as is ensuring installation is to the highest standard, using only approved materials. In fact this is so important that every Rhino- Turf system comes with a minimum 8 year guarantee. We want you to be so relaxed with Rhino-Turf that we even will look after your maintenance needs. And it doesn t end there. Rhino-Turf surfaces will be removed and either reused or recycled once their time is up. 2 The rhino-turf-offer www.rhino-turf.com 3

THE PROFESSIONAL GAME The clamour for synthetic turf to be allowed into the professional game gets ever louder. Already football internationals and Champion s League matches are played on synthetic turf, whilst several top European Leagues have one or more stadiums where synthetic has replaced natural turf. In Rugby League Widnes Vikings installed synthetic turf at their new stadium, in Rugby Union within the UK, Saracens play all their home matches on syntheticturf. But what about the wider market? Again English football is reluctant to follow its counterparts in Scotland, Wales and Ireland, where synthetic turf has proven a great success. Caution, concern and lack of knowledge seem to be driving the fear wagon, along with a hostile press. In reality synthetic turf is not right for every club and should only be considered when: High quality natural turf cannot be sustained. Extra revenue can be earned from hiring out a stadium. Commitment to the community demands more use of a facility. Nearly every footballer will have played at some point on synthetic turf, whilst more and more League and Union rugby players have experience on 3G surfaces. The eventual acceptance of synthetic turf in the professional game is just around the corner. Rhino-Turf VT40 originally designed for Chelsea FC. PERFORMANCE PADS The use of a resilient layer underneath a surface assists in the performance and durability of the system. For example to meet safety requirements in rugby high quality shock pads are used. Achieving the correct balance between shock absorption and energy sapping is a pre-requisite only accomplished by high performance systems. In football the addition of a pad will keep the top surface performing better for longer. Combining football and rugby into OneTurf requires a 60mm pile height with a performance base beneath, but without rugby the pile height can drop to 40mm pile height. At Rhino-Turf we have systems tested with a variety of shock pads: For more information on the correct pad for your system contact Rhino-Turf directly. 4 The professional game www.rhino-turf.com 5

EDUCATION Rhino-Turf has been designed for heavy use and is ideal in an education environment, where multiple users of varying abilities may be playing. But the difference with Rhino-Turf is that quality of performance is not sacrificed for durability. In fact our yarns are not just hard wearing, but softer to touch than you would expect. A feature of school pitches is the need to cater for more than one sport, indeed several. We focus on ensuring that the top sport, be it in playing standard or amount of use, is given priority. This means that we will tailor a system to suit your requirements. At Universities, where single sport use often dominates, choosing a system, based on player performance, becomes much easier with Rhino-Turf. Our range is simple, easily understood and fully tested. So, occasional users get to play on the best surfaces just like the first team players. Junior school sport is a key influence on a child s future sporting life, and making the experience fun will ensure more kids, play more sport. Rhino-Turf adds to the experience offering a better choice for playgrounds and play areas. CLUBS Some may say that sports clubs are increasingly taking more of a role in society and involvement especially with the young is growing. And this means making sure you have the very best facilities on offer to meet this demand. In fact we know that clubs always want the best surface they can afford, but do they always get it? Rhino-Turf s range is simple. We offer limited choice because we have already done the hard work and found out what clubs really want. In short that is high performance, extra durability and low maintenance. Your top players need to perform, your coaches need to have a perfect environment and, of course, all users need to feel safe, comfortable and enthused. Everyone can aspire to greater performance and Rhino-Turf is the inspiration that can make the difference. PRIVATE / COMMERCIAL Rhino-Turf works as well under intense use as it does under occasional play, making it the ideal surface for commercial 5 a side centres, tennis centres or private back garden tennis courts. Of course you need the right type of surface to deliver the performance you want, and this is another area where the Rhino-Turf range wins. Balancing the need for investors to achieve best value we match performance with price, without compromise. In fact Rhino-Turf goes a step further by guaranteeing the performance under heavy or light usage. Our long term approach to protecting our products ensures Rhino-Turf installations are not only of the highest standard but the end facility is looked after throughout its life. But don t expect a wide choice. Experience tells us what works, as have many people with synthetic turf facilities. We aim to keep things simple, straightforward and of course exceeding expectations. With a life time relationship based on a minimum 8 year guarantee reassurance as well as performance is our aim. 6 Clubs, education & private commercial www.rhino-turf.com 7

RHINO-TURF YARNS The Rhino-Turf range features 2 specifically developed yarn constructions. VT Yarn HF Yarn A specially created mix of yarns for high-end performance in football and rugby. First developed for the Chelsea FC indoor training area VT yarn consists of the proven and acclaimed Stemgrass shape combined with a unique curly Thatch yarn. The principals of this combination are simple. The Stemgrass yarn creates a soft feel, allowing foot and ball to experience a similar performance to natural turf. Supporting the Stemgrass is the Thatch yarn, which assists in keeping the longer yarn upright. But it does more. The Thatch yarn helps keep the infill in the surface, eliminating areas where infill can bounce back to the top, and migrate. VT yarns are real winners in different pile heights and create a very natural looking but durable surface. A proven yarn designed for hockey use, but with a twist The tight curl on each HF fibre allows the ball roll to be true, fast and consistent. But the waxy feel also means that the foot/surface relationship is almost as good as when the surface is wet. HF yarn is versatile and apart from providing an attractive surface for Hockey, is an excellent product for tennis and golf, whilst its incredible resilience means it can cope with heavy, recreational football use. HF yarn retains its softness whilst matching the hockey performance previously only achieved by expensive water based nylon. HF yarn is available in different heights and densities, making it the leader when high durability and quality are required. RHINO-TURF RUGBY In a perfect world rugby and football would be played on the same surface, and at Rhino- Turf we have produced OneTurf designed to meet both sports requirements. This means that clubs and schools can choose a rugby surface knowing that it has extra possibilities for dual use with football, and even American Football and GAA sports. Quality and performance standards have been established by football and rugby Governing Bodies, which Rhino-Turf exceeds, making it perfect for stadium facilities. Rugby adds in an extra requirement of safety and this is supplied by the shock pad beneath, which only enhances the long term performance for football. First and foremost Rhino-Turf offers a firm footing and resilience when needed, either for matches or training sessions, and ensures players feel secure to focus on their game. Whether for matches or training players feel safe when they play on Rhino- Turf, and through Rhino Rugby the range of scrum and training equipment that can be used ensures maximum usage from your area. For more details on Rhino s range of rugby equipment visit: www.rhinorugby.com RHINO-TURF VT60 Rhino-Turf VT60 is designed to offer One- Turf for both rugby and football, and it does. Tested to the highest standards, Rhino-Turf VT60 passes with flying colours on different shock pads. The two different shaped monofilament blades, supported by the curly thatch yarn provide most of the soft feel and density of turf both rugby and football require rugby for skin contact with the surface, and football for perfect ball roll. Additionally the weight of the Rhino- Turf VT60 product (an amazing 2,900g per sqm) plus the 35kg of infill makes it perfect for heavy scrummaging. The supporting infill is carefully applied by the skilled Rhino-Turf installation team, leaving the play area green from day one. Rhino-Turf VT60 is a hard wearing surface capable of withstanding intense rugby demands, whilst coping with extensive short game use. Above all it offers players a safe and certain surface to play, train and enjoy their game on. London Irish VT60 MJAbbotts 12 www.rhino-turf.com 13

RHINO-TURF FOOTBALL The world s number one sport has taken to synthetic turf. Not only is it fully supported by FIFA but is now accepted as a top playing surface all over the world. Rhino- Turf is the synthetic surface that will lead the way, ensuring quality of performance with durability and reliability. Let s look first at top use. Already different countries have football played in their top leagues, on synthetic turf, indeed Champions league and UEFA Qualifying matches regularly take place on synthetic turf! In a survey commissioned by FIFA, Prozone showed that the performance on natural and synthetic turf, over several matches was the same. So, clubs who are ready to adopt synthetic turf are benefiting from great playing conditions and can use the pitch far more than they can now: indeed, experience indicates over 1500 hours a season usage as against natural turf s 150, or 10 times as much. Wouldn t you like to have that kind of income coming in and more visitors to your facility? Rhino-Turf is only sold as a fully installed system to ensure it meets the performance requirements fully from hand over day, fulfils all expectations and becomes your pride and joy. RHINO-TURF VT40 The most successful football systems incorporate a shock pad underneath the top surface to provide extra resilience and long term performance. But it is the combination of two different monofilament fibres supported by the thatch curly fibre in the playing surface that makes Rhino-Turf VT40 so popular. The longer fibres allow perfect ball roll and foot/surface interchange, whilst the thatch supports the longer fibres in a similar way that roots support natural turf. The secondary role of the thatch is to hold the sand and rubber infill in place. This prevents rubber splash and ensures a visually green surface at all times. Be it Premier League stars or local five a side players Rhino-Turf VT40 is the top football surface in the world today. RHINO-TURF VT50 Here we are able to achieve FIFA 1* status without the use of a shockpad. RHINO-TURF VT60 Here we are able to achieve FIFA 2* status without the use of a shockpad. 14 Rhino-Turf Football www.rhino-turf.com 15

RHINO-TURF HOCKEY The world of hockey plays on synthetic turf and has done for years. In the UK we have moved towards better quality surfaces and increased durability, but most hockey pitches remain dual use, either with low level football or tennis as the second sport. This means a sand dressed product and Rhino-Turf has ensured that in such cases the game of hockey is not compromised. For international and top club level a fully synthetic surface offers the best hockey performance meeting FIH Global standards, and Rhino-Turf offers an approved system where durability and performance sit hand in hand. Both Rhino-Turf HF18 and Rhino-Turf HFWB are tested to FIH standards and are accredited surfaces. CERTIFICATE OF PRODUCT APPROVAL This is to certify that the Synthetic Hockey Surface described as Rhino Turf HF 18 submitted by CoCreation Grass Corporation has been tested and found to comply with all the performance requirements established by this Federation for specified international hockey competitions national hockey competitions This approval is valid until 20 October, 2016 PRESIDENT FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE HOCKEY INTERNATIONAL HOCKEY FEDERATION RHINO-TURF HFWB Is our Water Based product designed for top club and international use, where players want a fast game, with no compromise. Using soft twisted polyethylene monofilament yarn in a short, dense construction, the Rhino- Turf HFWB surface uses less water than conventional nylon but retains all the playing characteristics. RHINO-TURF HF18 Is our Sand Dressed product perfect for club, school and university matches, where the pitch has to play to the highest possible standard, yet also has to cater for an additional sport. Rhino-Turf HF18 is a heavy weight product with more yarn and more stable backing than the industry standard. This means it lays flatter, offering a better ball roll and hockey experience. It also helps resist damage caused by heavy cross-field football use. Like all Rhino-Turf products, installation is vital to the performance of the pitch, and techniques have been developed to guarantee the best laid hockey pitch. Rhino-Turf HF18 also offers a comfortable tennis performance when used as part of a hockey pitch, but also on its own without a shock pad. 16 Rhino-Turf Hockey www.rhino-turf.com 17

RHINO-TURF MULTI With a market predominantly based around education and local authority use, and clubs who need to offer more than one sport to qualify for grant money, within most European countries only one sport is played on a pitch. This becomes a challenge when more than one sport is played on a single pitch and certain sports are not compatible on the same length of grass, yet performance is still required. Rhino-Turf has developed products that meet different sporting combinations, meet global standards and can be considered truly multi-sport. First and foremost we try to understand what sports are required from a particular surface and facility. We then ascertain which sport takes preference and focus on delivering the best we can, understanding that the second and often third sports need consideration. This may come in novel line marking, the use of different colours to highlight goal areas or by the addition of a specific shock pad. RHINO-TURF HF15 & RHINO-TURF HF30 Where shorter 18mm pile height surfaces are used for multi-sport applications there is a proven risk of surface instability, visually seen with dancing lines and open joints. By increasing the pile length Rhino-Turf HF30 doubles the weight of infill applied, whilst on site tests verify that Rhino-Turf HF30 meets the requirements of FIH National at the high end, virtually replicating results of an 18mm pile height surface. Rhino-Turf HF30 is the natural successor to the traditional sand filled surface used for two decades on education and community fields. Using the latest fibre technology the extra long pile allows county level hockey, and offers a better performance for football. For a complete Multi surface the HF15 with a sand infill can cater for at least 6 different sports making this a true Multi Turf ideal for the school/education market. RHINO-TURF VT32 Rhino-Turf VT32 is a true multi-sport surface designed using the same winning technology that features in the VT60 and VT40 products, but with a new pile height designed to accommodate both football and a better level of hockey, using a blend of soft, shaped monofilaments with a supporting thatch root layer, which encompasses a base layer of sand and a performance layer of recycled rubber granules. Installed directly over a suitable shock pad by Rhino-Turf s own installers, top football and junior club hockey standards are achieved. In addition the density of fibres makes it a very safe and comfortable surface for Touch to be played on. Rhino-Turf also works well with shock pads laid onto well constructed stone bases, which together offer greater performance, long term benefits and lower initial costs over engineered bases. THE MOST APPROPRIATE MULTI SPORT COMBINATIONS Rugby > Football Hockey > Football Football > Hockey VT60 HF18 VT32 HF30 18 Hockey > Football > Tennis > Cricket > Golf HF15 Rhino-Turf Multi www.rhino-turf.com 19

Unrolling the surface Joining adjacent rolls INSTALLATION The most important part of any installation is the quality of the fitting. Rhino-Turf surfaces are installed by the very best fitters, using the right equipment, laid onto approved pads or bases, with tested adhesives and infill materials. Different techniques are required for dense short pile surfaces compared with longer more open products, and an understanding of this is fundamental to a successful installation. So to make sure, every Rhino-Turf installation is checked on completion to ensure it matches the customers requirements. Find more details of our approved installers at: www.rhino-turf.com Cutting in lines Sanding the surface Applying rubber over the sand Final brushing of the pitch 20 Installation www.rhino-turf.com 21

RHINO-TURF QUALITY For those unfamiliar with synthetic turf it may surprise you to know that only 30% of the cost of a pitch relates to the surface. It may also then not be too much of a shock to realise that as much emphasis, often more, is spent on the construction of the base. In some circumstances the same rigorous controls are not applied to the installation of the synthetic turf. For these reasons it is essential for a strong relationship between surface supplier and installer, to ensure the end result is a top quality playing surface. But quality begins with the design of the product. It must encompass the requirements of the sport, yet not be impossible to make. Choosing the right components, the right manufacturing techniques and ensuring proper quality control right through is essential. That, however, is just the start as once manufactured the product has to arrive on site in perfect condition. In fact every roll should roll out perfectly, without creases or flattened pile. In reality there are sometimes occasions where this does not happen, and then the skill of the installer is needed to ensure the surface is given the attention needed to bring it back to optimum condition. Upon completion every installation should be ready for testing to the appropriate standard. If not, quite simply, the facility is not ready for play. This final visual or field test guarantees performance, and verifies that what is installed is what the client expects. MANUFACTURE In the last 5 years there has been a tremendous growth in companies manufacturing synthetic turf. Some are new divisions of existing carpet manufacturers, whilst others are new operations. But the key is to ensure that the equipment used is the most advanced, sophisticated and versatile. In short the better the equipment, the better the product quality and the more efficient the process. In a time where every penny counts, driving efficiency through Lean Manufacturing has become a staple of industry, and can make older equipment run better, but ultimately machines can only produce what they are designed to. With new, state of the art equipment new products are possible. Rhino-Turf is made in partnership with the world s single biggest production facility, where no equipment is more than 5 years old, and all specifically designed to produce the highest quality synthetic turf. On site testing ensures quality checks are constantly carried out on strength, UV, shape and durability. Rhino-Turf can also be backed with either PU or latex depending upon which is most appropriate for that particular product. TEST REPORTS The proof that a surface or system works is in the accompanying test report, or is it? Achieving a pass in lab conditions is not the same as on site, and that is why every Rhino-Turf product is tested upon completion, and a certificate of compliance provided to the end customer. Of course this is the final reassurance and is linked in to guarantees, but Rhino-Turf goes further and will monitor each facility through its life, even after the guarantee period has run out. For years synthetic turf has been produced to meet governing body standards. With Rhino-Turf this is taken further, and those standards are used as guidelines to be exceeded. This is possible through many years of market experience, but more so by listening to users at all levels, and finding out what they want. Additional tests to football, rugby or hockey standards are carried out and appropriate test certificates issued to provide evidence of the quality of Rhino-Turf products. 22 Quality, manufacturing & test reports www.rhino-turf.com 23

MAINTENANCE Rhino-Turf promises Strength in Performance, but we need your help. Without a commitment to maintaining your facility and protecting your investment, there is always a danger that outside influences can affect performance. That is why Rhino-Turf surfaces come, not only with a maintenance guide, but an individually planned regime. Over 30 years of synthetic turf use shows that pitches maintained regularly will last longer and play better. Rhino-Turf monitors all surfaces provided during the guarantee period, and will advise on maintenance as part of the on-going service. For more information: robert@rhino-turf.com. On completion of your Rhino-Turf pitch a maintenance manual is presented, including an online logbook option. As part of every Rhino-Turf pitch maintenance standard tests are carried out to ensure and guarantee performance is met. PITCH CARE AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL SAND DRESSED AND 3G SURFACES RECYCLING Every Rhino-Turf product can be fully recycled at the end of its life. But Rhino- Turf offers even more, thanks to the Turf Muncher. RELOCATION For your existing synthetic turf the Turf Muncher will lift the surface and separate infill materials. These are bagged and can be reused or cleaned as appropriate. The remaining surface is rolled into 4m wide rolls, and depending upon its quality, can be relaid elsewhere, (overseas markets such as Bulgaria have taken second hand surfaces) or sent for recycling.
