This sounded like a fun twist so let s give it a go. Here s how it will work we will have teams consisting of 2 riders. You choose your partner! Each rider participating will pay an additional $5 to register. This will be a 50/50 Jackpot so the team who has the highest cumulative points combined will win 50% of all funds collected for the team event. So, if we have 20 teams, that s $100 collected, of which the winning team that wins will receive $50 as the prize. There will be only one winner there will not be a 2nd-6 th placing. So, choose your partner and sign up!
Obstacles The course will consist of natural and/or man-made obstacles. Horse and rider will be judged on their ability to negotiate these obstacles safely, trail manners, general horsemanship and ability to complete the ride within the prescribed time as determined by the Course Designers. Time limit(s) will be set for each obstacle and will be strictly enforced. Riders are not to coach or provide direction to friends, children or any participant while they engaged at the obstacle. Judging Riders will be awarded 0-10 points per obstacle. Rider/horse will receive 1 point for an attempt, only if the horse engages the obstacle. A flat out refusal may warrant a zero and is at the discretion of the Judge(s). Points will be deducted for exceeding said set limit(s) and for coaching, either receiving or giving. Judges will be instructed on how to deduct in the event of this situation. Riders may ask for their scores after completing each obstacle. Decision of the onsite judges is FINAL and is not to be disputed. Unsportsmanlike Conduct Riders are hereby notified that any act of unsportsmanlike conduct, whether verbal or physical disrespect to Judges, event volunteers or other riders will result in loss of points on the particular obstacle and/or shall be grounds for immediate disqualification. Additionally, any abuse to your horse, at the staging area or at any time during this event shall be grounds for immediate disqualification. If disqualification occurs, the rider shall forfeit all entry fees and prizes and will be asked to immediately leave the premises. No exceptions will be made. The Judge(s) and Ride Managers have the final say. Gaited vs. Non-Gaited All horses are to perform paces and movements as described by the Judges Assistant. If a canter is part of the obstacle description and you wish to receive the maximum points allowed, then you must canter as requested. Please do not discuss, dispute or argue this point with the Judges as they have been instructed on the requirements for all horses to perform the same movements, regardless of breed. Awards/Prizes Grand Champion and Reserve Champion awards will be given to the two high point winners. Up to six ribbons will be awarded in each Breed, Age and Novice Division. Breed categories are established when there are 6 or more horses of any particular registered breed. If your horse does not meet the 6 minimum criteria, said horse will be placed in Other Registered or Other Registered Gaited. For riders who send in their application without breed papers, their horse will be placed in the Grade category. Novice Horse and Novice Rider Divisions In order to qualify for either Novice Horse or Novice Rider, either you and/or your horse have competed in 3 or less JPR s as of the first CC JPR, which was the BES ride on 4-24-2016. This includes JPR s outside of the Crystal Crown Series. Registration/Fees The fee for pre-registered entries is $40 for NHS Members and $45 for non-nhs Members.
