Exemption request Luke Janofski Motion by Garrow, 2 nd by Froberg to grant an exception for 14U AA Tryouts. He will pay the tryout fee and skate at a future date as a tryout for the coach. b. Approve coaches Jim Pentecost 10U AA non parent coach. Motion by Froberg, 2 nd by L Huillier to approve Jim Pentecost as a 10U AA assistant coach. c. 19U Jerseys Haley will order from Superior Hockey d. 10U Fundraiser Approval Motion by Demattia, 2 nd by Garrow to approve the Halloween Party, Pasty Sales and Frei Chevrolet fundraiser for 10U AA team, motion passes. e. Policy Changes read by Nemacheck for approval at the next board meeting: i. Non parent coaching reimbursements from team accounts are limited to $50 per diem per day per coach, one hotel room and mileage for 1 vehicle. Non parent coaches are encouraged to ride with other parents to reduce expenses. ii. If a player is selected to an AA team, he/she may not decline the selection to play on an A team. iii. If a player is selected to an AA team and declines, the coach may select another player, which attended that team s tryouts, before the house league draft takes place. XIV. Review New Action Items a. Mac to get a list of Learn to Skate registered players to the board to help select a director b. Mac to notify all travel team parents they must register with MJH before the first practice c. Mac to let Jon Nebel know about the Luke Janofski exemption d. Haley to Solicit Picture bids e. Nemacheck to call the DDA RE: Parade f. Garrow to talk to Gannon about flyers to schools g. Moyer to print flyers for schools
Marquette Junior Hockey Corporation Board of Directors XV. XVI. Public Comment (Limited to 3 minutes per speaker): Paul Smith asked about players moving up a division in house league. The current policy states this is not allowed. He was instruction to email the board his request for their review. Adjourn: Motion by September In attendance: Cathy Starrett, Mac, Paul Smith House and Travel teams begin their seasons in September. Regularly schedule board meeting the first Wednesday of the month @ Citizens Forum. Early September Send out emails to people not registered but registered last year. Deliver flyers to public schools to encourage membership and registration. Approve vendor for team pictures. Travel Team Tryouts are the first weekend after Labor Day. Solicit division directors for 18/16U, 14U, 12U, 10U, 8U, 6U and Girls. Solicit head coaches for house league teams. Create schedule for all house/travel division team practices Notify division directors to be at House evaluations and drafts. Hockey on Third parade near the end of September. Notify all coaches and assistants to register with USA Hockey, have valid background checks and safe sport training. Prepare concessions, publish schedule to MqtHockey.org. Late September open concession stand. Last week in September House league evaluations. Division directors need to be present.
