Absences or Arriving Late (Tardy) Absences Arriving Late Or program rns on a schedle like a well oiled machine and mst have all the parts working in nison for it to be sccessfl Do not arrive late, as being late tampers with the strctre of the practice and places yor athlete behind the others In the event an absence mst occr notify yor coach in a written form and call the front office If there is a known/schedled absence, please notify coaches and front office as early as possible Unexcsed absences are not tolerated and failre to notify coaches is considered an nexcsed absence Dring meet season, athlete s mst attend ALL schedled practices the week of a meet to be eligible to compete If an athlete arrives late we will have physical conditioning ready for them Arriving on-time allows the proper warm-p and stretch to help prevent injry Being consistently late will reslt in a conversation taking place to resolve the problem Mltiple late arrivals will be considered an nexcsed absence Train Hard Arrive Early Positive attitde

Early Dismissal and Vacation Time Early Dismissal Dismissing yor athlete early from praccce tampers the praccce in the same way as late arrival If yo need to dismiss early, please nocfy yor coach before the praccce Early dismissal will be disciplined in the same manner as late arrival If another event is schedled weekly at the same Cme, we ask that yo arrive later to that event rather than interrpcng the praccce If early dismissal cannot be avoided, make sre yor athlete gets the agencon of his coach before he leaves. Leaving withot nocfying is strictly prohibited Vacation time VacaCon Cme of two weeks is allowed per compeccve year Non gymnasccs related camps are considered Cme away from the gym and are treated as vacacon Cme GymnasCcs camps are treated as absences bt are excsed if coaches are nocfied beforehand Family emergencies We nderstand that these are navoidable, please nocfy yor coach if yor family needs Cme off for an emergency

Academics and Off-Camps P.E. Academics Or gym policy is academics before athletics We take academics very seriosly at IB and feel that or athletes shold as well Any absences, late arrivals, or early dismals de to academics is never qestioned USAG Academic All-American Applications begin in Febrary Coaches are happy to write recommendation letters to attest to the character we observe Please notify yor coaches if yor athlete(s) will be missing any time in training de to academics Off Camps P.E. A minimm of 15 hors of schedled training is reqired Check yor local school district for eligibility, exact dates, and possible payments Make copies and keep all of yor forms Yo mst prepare plenty of time for this process, please give or coaches this cortesy as well All grades are trned in by yor coaches electronically Reqired for grades: Stdent Name, Grade, School Name, Conselor Name, Grade Form, a School contact name and E-Mail

Training and Gym Gidelines Training All Athletes will be reqired to order (throgh Booster Clb) competition leotard, warm ps, backpack, and a practice leotard Practice attire incldes leotard or IB approved tank top with tight athletic pants (capri or booty shorts)* It is recommended that all girls practice in leotards Capris and booty shorts are also allowed in addition to leotards Loose clothing is not permitted dring training, and athletes will be asked to change Athletes are to come to practice completely prepared with necessary eqipment *wearing tank tops and shorts MUST be approved by coach prior to practice Gym Gidelines All athletes shold bring a small, healthy snack to practice that fels their body throgh practice Athletes mst leave their belongings in the girl s locker room and not with a parent or in the lobby IB is not responsible for lost or stolen items from locker rooms. Be sre all belongings are a pt away and do not leave valables in lockers. We reqire all team members to clean p after themselves. If a mess is left in the lockers then the locker room privileges are revoked for the week. Yonger girls need reminded often Or gymnasts are expected to treat all coaches with respect regardless of if the coach trains them or not Or gymnasts are reqired to maintain a positive attitde, and work diligently dring each and every practice

Eqipment and Warm-p Necessary Eqipment Grips with wrist bands Complsory levels: DO NOT prchase grips withot speaking to yor coach beforehand! Two or more rolls of Athletic Tape or Coband Foam Roller (inexpensive ones can be fond at Wal-Mart, Target, Academy or online) TheraBands Jmp rope Ankle weights *Athletes mst pt their names on all belongings and leave in their locker Warm-Up Warm-p is essential to injry prevention and to prepare the body for workot We start every practice with jogging/ rnning promptly at the beginning of their practice Eqipment is sed in the warm-p. If yo have specific qestions on the exercises and stretching in yor warm-p, please speak with yor coach When athletes arrive early, they are NOT to play on eqipment withot approval from a coach Being on eqipment withot a coach present is strictly prohibited!

Practice Behavior and Training Expectations Practice Behavior Good behavior is the most important aspect to a sccessfl practice Excellent behavior will be recognized, rewarded, and broght to the parent s attention Conversely, if a problem persists dring practice and is not corrected with a coach to parent conversation, then the athlete may not compete at the next meet Or team has a zero tolerance policy on bllying, swearing, and lewd behavior. Any instance of this type of behavior will be met with dismissal from practice or scratching all remaining events at competition Persistent poor behavior will reslt in a parent/athlete/coach meeting, and possible dismissal from the team with no refnds Training Expectations Gymnasts are expected to greet coaches before practice Gymnasts are to show p on time, with a positive attitde, ready to work Dring training we expect athletes to be able to follow given instrctions and all provided skill circits We give select grops a 15-min snack break in the middle of their practice, after which they are to retrn to practice immediately No cell phones allowed on the gym floor at any point!

Competition Behavior and Parental Coaching Competition Behavior Dring competitions, athletes represent Infinite Bonds, their coaches, and or program We reqire IB gymnasts to demonstrate the tmost respect for all Jdges, Coaches, Athletes, and Facilities Be prepared for competition by bringing all necessary warm-ps, eqipment needed, and by arriving early If a gymnast fails to show respect, be prepared, and show good sportsmanship, they will be warned once If a behavior problem persists, they will be reqired to scratch the rest of the meet. Frther competition for the season will be discssed at that time Parental Coaching Coaches are edcated professionals. We are hired to train yor athlete. Show respect to yor coaching staff by allowing them to coach We do not allow parental coaching at the meets or at or practices If yo have a qestion abot yor daghter s coaching, then please speak to yor coach after practice We reserve the right to remove a gymnast from team if parental coaching becomes an isse We ask that parents do not sit throgh and observe all practices. Constant parental involvement dring practice is a distraction. If this problem is persistent, parents will be asked to leave. Please keep observation to a minimm

Diet, Injry Prevention, and Hand Care Diet We do not have a specific diet for or athletes, bt are happy to provide sggestions if reqested Great ntritional facts and information can be fond at www.sada.org that is the US Anti Doping Agency The only dietary reqirements that we have are to bring healthy snacks and water to practice and to meets Please refrain from bringing any type of sgary sports or jice drinks Injry Prevention Gymnastics is inherently a dangeros sport. Injry can never be entirely avoided We prevent possible injry by properly warming p, stretching, and training to or capabilities In the event of an injry, we ask that the athlete contines practicing after a doctor has cleared them to do minimal activity Tition does not change if an injry occrs Hand Care Gymnastics reqires athletes to se their hands in ways that peel the skin and rip it. This cannot be avoided and their hands will become rogh Each gymnast shold have these items available at home: Pmice Stone, Cticle Scissors, Vitamin E oil/pills, and gaze to cover rips Constantly be aware of the color and roghness of the hands. Be sre to treat early if they become infected and trn yellow-ish

Hand Care Maintenance Prevention Keep hands smooth Periodically check hands for rogh edges If rogh edges, smooth ot with pmice stone When Rip Occrs Soak in warm water and wash thoroghly Trim edges of skin as mch as possible After soaking, the skin will trn white and easier to ct off dead skin Ct open Vitamin E pill, por contents on the skin, cover Water and blood blisters DO NOT RIP OFF SKIN!!! Gently make a hole with a cleaned needle/pin Drain all flid ot of wond Psh the skin against the hand for 3-5 mintes Cover the wond and allow the skin can attach itself This helps the healing take place faster The skin will come off bt in the meantime, having it covered by the original skin will allow it to stay clean and heal faster

Private Lessons and Spplemental Instrction Individal private lessons are to be spplemental only, they shold never be sed to take the place of a schedled team practice Or program is specifically designed to maximize practice time, individal repetitions, and time on eqipment Private lessons are great tools to help an athlete overcome mental and physical obstacles sch as fear of skills, confsion, self dobt, and simply to get more repetitions of the skill. They are great to prepare for individal events or meets, and are only to be sed to get specific instrction on skills that may need more work Previosly, we had no rles for private lessons, any IB coach cold condct private training with or athletes. We fond that the instrction received was sometimes contradictory to how we train, and not crrent to the pdated USAG rotines Or new policy is that or athletes are only allowed to se their specific coaches for private lesson training. Please do not contact other coaches that are not a part of their reglar team training for private lessons. This rle ensres that the athlete will receive the maximm benefit and not become confsed with contradicting instrction
