My name is Dan Seymour and I m a young PGA golf professional aspiring to compete at the highest level. I m currently playing full time on the PGA Euro Pro tour and European Challenge Tour. These are the top development tours in Europe. I m looking for investment for 2014/15 that will offer huge value to your company. I understand that many companies can view sponsorship as giving money away and getting very little in return. At this stage in my golfing career I m not in a position where I can give money back, but I feel there are many ways in which I can help add value to your business. This is an investment rather than just giving a young professional money. Investing in Dan Seymour can result in more exposure of your company and potentially help your business. This would be a great way for your organisation to take advantage of corporate entertainment and commercial advertising while being associated with a young golf professional on the PGA Euro Pro and Challenge tour. Last year I was on national television (Sky Sports) on several occasions for up to 2 hours at a time and I have included newspaper articles about some of my results in this proposal. During the season all the euro pro tour events receive worldwide television coverage. Every event on the tour is shown as a 2 hour highlight programme on Sky Sports. Each show is repeated between three to five times a week and at varied times of the day to gain maximum exposure. At each event players are interviewed by Sky TV which would be a brilliant opportunity to promote your organisation of products or services. The PGA euro pro tour is one of Europe s leading development tours. The tour is growing in stature year by year, with strength and depth throughout the field of players, the euro pro tour is a very competitive tour. It provides vital experience of life on the tour circuit to not only help lift players to the required level for the European Tour, but also to prepare them for the challenges ahead, in particular the additional pressures of televised competitions. The European Challenge Tour has developed into a proven training ground, where the champions-in-waiting can hone their skills over 72 hole competition and under differing conditions in a substantial number of countries within Europe and beyond. The competition is fierce, testing playing ability and character to the limit in offering only the top 20 players promotion each year to The European Tour. Although any Pro-am will not necessarily progress me to the European tour, they are brilliant opportunity for me to practice under pressure and they would be excellent for marketing and promoting your organisation. Also create and develop awareness of the Dan Seymour brand. As your logo/brand would be clearly associated with me (Dan Seymour) it is vital that I present your company in a positive light.
Who is Dan Seymour? I m a PGA touring golf professional with a history of success in the professional ranks. Born and bred in Newbury, I have been fully self-funding my quest to compete at the highest level for the last 2 years. Over the last year I ve been working full time through the winter and part time during the golf season at Nuffield Health to get some money together so I can play. 2010 was a difficult year with the sad passing of my mother, but I was determined to persist with my golfing ambitions. That year I narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Open championship at St. Andrews, I won the regional qualifier at Ferndown and then finished 8th in the Final Qualifying at Scotscraig where the top 3 qualified. In 2011 I made another step closer to achieving my ambition and playing at the highest level. I finished 17th at 1st stage of European Tour school which qualified me for the 2nd stage in Spain. I didn t get through the 2nd stage but as a result I got an associate membership for the Challenge tour in 2012. 2012 saw my golf game progress further. I won my first Euro Pro Tour event at Wensum Valley, as a result of my win I received invites to play the European Challenge Tour at the Scottish Hydro event and the English Challenge. I finished 13th on The Euro Pro Tour Order of Merit which meant narrowly missing out on one of the allusive top 5 spots. I participated in the 2nd stage of European Tour school for the second year running and obtained an associate membership for the 2013 Challenge Tour. Prior to the last 3 years, I successfully completed the 3 year degree PGA training programme. Within these 3 years I ve been coaching people of all abilities, I m now a fully qualified PGA golf professional. Hard working, grafter, strong work ethic (you only get out what you put in!) He is a likeable young man who is also very talented. I see him most mornings at the Nuffield Health Club where he often opens at 6.30 am to earn some money to pay expenses. As a former member of the European Tour I have come into contact with many young golfers who have shown a desire to reach the top. Sadly few have the necessary attributes; a combination of skill, brains and guts. I m going to stick my neck out and say Dan Seymour has all three. His skill is undeniable, he did exceptionally well in his PGA exams but most importantly he s shown he has guts. The tragic loss of his mother, at such an important time of his life, could have thrown him off course, but with tremendous courage he regained focus and when he won the first Euro Pro event last year, there were few more delighted and impressed than I. I even stopped off at a hotel in Tonbridge to turn on my computer to watch the final few holes of the tournament unfold. In the tough world of professional golf there are no guarantees of success but when a young golfer shows as much talent as Dan Seymour, I think it s right that he gets all the help he needs to achieve his dream. What s the investment? The investment would be a total of 10000, ideally from 1 organisation/company but a maximum of 2. If 2 sponsors are required to achieve the desired investment then they will be definitely non-conflicting. Any negotiations can be discussed for investment options.
