OVERVIEW
Junior Eagles Transition / Mission To promote an ongoing youth football and cheer program in Irondequoit, and to inspire in all our participants the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship and physical fitness regardless of race, color, gender or creed. The Junior Eagles firmly believe in the future of our children through academics, social achievement, and having fun and positive experiences on and off the field.
Sportsmanship Good sportsmanship shouldn t just be displayed on the field. Parents and fans also need to show it during competition. Teaching good sportsmanship to kids starts at home. As much as we like to see our children win games, remember that those wins will not translate into strong character. Good sportsmanship learned will stay in your child s DNA for life!
Partnership with IHS Eagles We pride ourselves on being the feeder program for the Irondequoit High School Eagles Football and Cheer programs. The goal of our partnership with the high school coaching staff is to help develop our players and cheerleaders to best prepare them for success on those teams. We are thankful to have access to the great coaching resources on our high school teams and look forward to continually strengthening this relationship with each and every Junior Eagles season.

Junior Eagles Attendance Policy Your child is expected to show up on time and stay until the coach has excused them. Your coach should be made aware of any conflicts as soon as possible and will handle each participant s requests accordingly. If your child is going to miss ANY practices, please let his/her head coach know as soon as possible. Absences from practices and games have to be taken seriously, due to the safety issues that are involved with the program. Excessive absences will be addressed individually by your child s Coach and could result in the Board of Directors taking punitive action. Please note: The month of August is critical to learn the fundamentals of football and cheerleading. It is an AYFCL mandate that a football player must have 10 hours (4 days) of conditioning practice before they can participate in full contact with pads. Once games begin, it is a mandate that players must have 4 hours of practice time (2 practices) or they can not participate in that week s game.
Junior Eagles Weather Policy We practice in the rain. In the case of thunder AND lightning, as well as extreme heat, the Executive Board will make decisions about delaying or cancelling a practice. If the delay/cancel is before practice begins we will communicate via social media. It is the quickest, most readily available tool we have to use. If the delay/cancel is due to lightning at practice, all players and spectators will go to their cars and wait. Do not leave until instructed to. Attendance is taken before and after. There is a 30 minute allclear window we must abide by, so sometimes delay can be lengthy or could cause a cancel. If the delay/cancel is due to extreme heat, instructions will be driven by NYSPHSAA guidelines. During games, referees discretion. They follow all of the above guidelines.
What does Registration pay for? Field Use: Practice and Game $9,268.00 AYFCL Charter fee and insurance $2,100.00 Officials $3,216.00 Storage: $3,550.00 Total: $18,734.00/$21,870 registrations
