General Observations & Debates U.S. onshore activity levels remain robust and outlook is upbeat. E&P discretionary cash flow likely poised to increase double-digits y/y through 2020. This will support further demand for oil services via higher E&P capital spending. Near-term, however, recent industry expansion and reactivation efforts are weighing on some industry segments creating operational friction in the form of logistics, labor and pricing. For example, pressure pumping and regional frac sand prices experiencing some pressure while structurally oversupplied segments like well servicing remain weak. On the other hand, OCTG, Toptier land rigs and large diameter coiled tubing all maintain greater relative pricing power. In other words, U.S. oil service fundamentals are nuanced. Greater activity and improved results distills into higher oil service capex, although there are signs new frac equipment orders are slowing. Impact of further fleet reactivations? Market share vs. Price? Competing industry views? Fleet Attrition = Fact or Fiction? Industry M&A to accelerate? Capital Discipline? SIMMONS & COMPANY INTERNATIONAL ENERGY SPECIALISTS OF PIPER JAFFRAY 3

E&P Estimated Cash Flows & CapEx Spending E&P discretionary cash flow should improve meaningfully over the next two years. DCF modeled to improve ~16% in 2019. Key question will be drillbit reinvestment and desire to maintain capital discipline potentially E&P capex could grow faster on a y/y basis. Early read into 2020 could suggest another double-digit y/y improvement. Our forecast is based on WTI prices of $65/$60/$55 in 18/ 19/ 20, respectively. Discretionary Cash Flow & Capex: E&P Universe $70,000 $62,738 $60,000 $54,032 $50,000 $40,000 $36,756 $40,855 $44,600 $30,000 $20,000 $26,030 $23,899 $10,000 $0 FY'16 FY'17 FY'18E FY'19E Discretionary Cash Flow Drillbit Capex Based on a basket of ~30 leading E&P companies, Source: SCI Estimates, SIMMONS & COMPANY INTERNATIONAL ENERGY SPECIALISTS OF PIPER JAFFRAY 4

U.S. Land Rig Forecast We assume a slight moderation in rig count growth for the balance of 2018, but a renewed acceleration in 2019, a function of expected higher E&P cash flows and spending next year. Recent rig count gains have moderated, perhaps a reflection of E&P capital discipline. Should WTI prices remain north of $60/bbl, our rig count forecast would be biased higher.
