HorsePlay At Camborne Show Saturday, 20 July 2013 HorsePlay are delighted and proud to sponsor our own dedicated Display Ring at Camborne Show for a second year. This year we have brought back some favorites from previous years, Parelli Natural Horsemanship and our own HorsePlay display, 'St Trinian's Come to Town!', and given a new twist to our Scurry event by combining it with a Team Games Challenge that was very popular with the Pony Club Mounted Games teams in 2010. We are also pleased to introduce some new events for your enjoyment: Three displays from a group called Sombras Infinitas - Endless Shadows. This is a group of local riders with Iberian horses who put on displays at shows with their own special mix of skills and talents. You will have three chances to see them as they will perform a Celtic number, a Spanish number and the story of Rapunzel. The Pony Club Horse and Hound Competition. This event is a qualifier for the Equine Fair held in Exeter in early December. It involves teams of four Pony Club riders with ponies and four Pony Club children with dogs, competing over a show jumping course. The children are all under 12 years old, so they will need lots of cheering to encourage them as they race against the clock. Provisional timetable 9.30am 10.30am 11.45am 12.15am 1.30pm 2.00pm 2.45pm 3.30pm 4.00pm 4.20pm Parelli Natural Horsemanship Pony Club Horse and Hound Challenge Sombras Infinitas - Endless Shadows, Celtic Display HorsePlay Ride, Drive and Online Team Games Challenge Sombras Infinitas - Endless Shadows, Danza Feliz Happy Dance Parelli Natural Horsemanship HorsePlay 'St Trinian's Come to Town!' Parelli Natural Horsemanship We are delighted to welcome back Alison Jones, David Zund and members of the South West Parelli Instructors Team. Alison has recently been awarded the converted 4* Senior Instructor status, only one of two in the UK, so we are very proud that she will be with us with her lovely horses. This year they will be showing off their skills and explaining the Parelli training method over three separate sessions in the ring. This is a truly inspirational demonstration and not to be missed example of what can be achieved when a horse and rider have a high level of communication and understanding. It is very rare for us to have two such highly qualified Parelli instructors in Cornwall so make the most of it. For more information: info@savvysouthwest.co.uk http://www.parellinaturalhorsetraining.com/

Sombras Infinitas - Endless Shadows This is a group of enthusiastic riders with Iberian horses. Their aim is to show harmony between horse and rider showing different types of riding and communicating by command through friendship. The driving force behind the group is Lisa Hoogervorst, who is supported by team assistants Yamea Hoogervorst and Megan Hill. The rest of the team is made up of Rachel Allen-Wilkinson, Jodie Stafford, Craig Wilkinsoon, Kim Ball, Emma Gibson and Verity Chalmers. Their costumes are designed by Sue Hill with help from Amy Hill and Holly Badger Boom. They will perform three numbers: A Celtic Display, that is featured in this rehearsal photo, a Spanish Display called Danza Feliz Happy Dance and the Story of Rapunzel. For more information: E-mail: dely.hoogervorst@gmail.com

Pony Club Horse and Hound Competition Qualifier This year we are pleased to be hosting the Pony Club Horse and Hound Competition Qualifier at Camborne Show. Teams of four riders and four children with their dogs compete over a 2ft show jumping course against the clock for a place in the final at the Christmas Equine Fair in Exeter in December. Teams will be drawn from Area 16 of the Pony Club, which includes teams from Devon and Cornwall. All the children are under 12 years old and will be competing with their own ponies and dogs. They are judged on style as well as faults and speed so it is a nail biting competition with lots to play for. Training of pony and rider and dog and handler is well underway. HorsePlay Display Team - 'St Trinian's Come to Town!' Following the success of our Olympic themed display at last year's Camborne Show and our equine panto, 'Strictly Festive Fun' at Christmas, the HorsePlay team are proud to present this year's offering, 'St Trinian's Come to Town!' St Trinian's First Formers will be represented by the Junior HorsePlayers and the HorsePlay Mini team, while our teenagers will be Sixth Formers competing in a Chase Me Charlie style competition for the honour of St Trinian's. Members of staff are played by clients with their own horses, led by the affable Miss Fritton, played by Tamsin Irons. All good fun for everyone involved, and a chance to demonstrate our many skills and talents along the way. Costumes are in the final stages of being prepared, but below is a couple of photos from last year's Camborne Show and the Strictly Festive Fun panto, where, Dell Boy and Rodney (from the hit TV series Only Fools and Horses) danced in our version of the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing'. You may see some more of those fantastic umbrella skills performed by Morecambe and Wise in the Singing in the Rain sketch, employed by Miss Fritton, St Trinian's canny Headmistress, to side-step one or two of her unruly pupils tricks. A quick note about HorsePlay At HorsePlay we offer tailor-made, fun filled and educational activities for you and your horse at our beautiful home near Lanner, on the outskirts of Redruth in Cornwall. Our aim is to provide you with great opportunities to have fun with your horse, from informal horsey sleepovers at one of our summer camps to a simple Play Day with a group of friends. There are always chances to increase your knowledge and skills with private or group lessons, and educational Courses and Clinics on a variety of subjects from saddling to loading. Our popular HorsePlayers group enjoys a full day of lessons and a Rider Fitness session regularly on Mondays and we hold monthly Social Nights to celebrate our successes and make plans for future events and activities. We provide high quality tuition and a variety of activities for individuals and small groups. This keeps it all very personal and informal, with the focus on a confidence building warm welcome, home-cooked food and most importantly lots of fun. For more information...

HorsePlay Ride, Drive and Online Team Games Challenge This year a new twist on a long standing favourite, a Team Games Challenge. This year's teams will be made up of a driving pony, a ridden pony and one online, one of which will be from the HorsePlay Mini Team. Each team will enter the ring together and perform a series of tasks against the clock, both individually and together. The tasks are devised to test a wide variety of skills, both for the horse and the human. Another chance to get behind your favourite team and cheer them on. For more information...
