ARCA By The Numbers 63 2015 is the 63rd season of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards ARCA & Television 20 ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards race events in 2015 ARCA signed a new, three-year contract with NewsCorp, the parent company of FOX Broadcasting Company, in early 2015. NewsCorp rebranded SPEED in September, 2013. ARCA s relationship with the FOX Sports family of networks reaches back to April 20, 1997, when Speedvision covered the ARCA Racing Series race at Salem Speedway. Cumulatively, Speedvision, Speed Channel, SPEED and FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 have telecast 218 races encompassing 18 years of covering the ARCA Racing Series. The 2015 season includes 10 live races on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2. ARCA As A Sanctioning Body In addition to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, ARCA also is a sanctioning body for approximately 80 other racing events, from local tracks (Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways) to three touring series and a Demolition Derby that has been running for more than 40 years in southeast Michigan. 12 States the ARCA Racing Series will visit in 2015 18 Different tracks on the 2015 ARCA Racing Series schedule CBS Sports Network will broadcast races from Toledo, Winchester and Springfield in 2015. ARCA and the CBS Sports Network signed a multi-year agreement in 2014. In 2014, CBS Sports Network provided live, flag-to-flag coverage of ARCA races at Elko, Winchester and Madison. ARCA Racing Network Charles Krall (left) and Tim Clagg will return in 2015 for another season of ARCA Racing Network broadcasts. A veteran announcer, Krall serves as play-by-play announcer for several ARCA Racing Series events that are broadcast live on the arcaracing.com while Clagg has been a color commentator. The duo also team up during the racing season for a weekly show that can be heard at 2 p.m. every Thursday throughout the season. 53rd running of the SuperChevyStores.com 100 ARCA PRESS RELEASE (JULY 29, 2015) (SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - July 29, 2015) - The SuperChevy- Stores.com-Allen Crowe 100 national championship stock car race at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, featuring the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, is turning 53. The 53rd running of the SuperChevyStores.com 100, one of the capital city s largest sporting events, takes center stage on the world s fastest mile dirt track Sunday afternoon August 23 alongside the 163rd annual Illinois State Fair, ongoing since 1853. With ARCA s roots reaching back to 1953, much of the tour s rich history developed over the decades on dirt tracks across America. In fact, the 2015 SuperChevy- Stores.com 100 marks the 352nd ARCA race on dirt since the series inception. The Illinois State Fair mile dirt venues are vitally important to the character and identity of the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, said ARCA President Ron Drager. It s a conscious effort on our part to continue to recognize the role non-pavement tracks played in the development of our series, and motorsports as a whole, and the role dirt racing continues to play today. The on-going legacy of one of America s oldest state fairs has certainly included a sizeable chunk of auto racing over the years - its tenure dating back more than 70 years to 1934 when Billy Winn won the first-ever championship race event on the mile horse track. And it s on that same horse track where the Allen Crowe 100 grew roots since the inaugural 100-lap stock car race in 1950 - Jay Frank the winner. The SuperChevyStores.com 100 is named in honor of Springfield resident Allen Crowe who lost his life in a sprint car crash at New Bremen Speedway. The event is one of two dirt-track venues on the annual ARCA Racing Series schedule, the other being the Labor Day Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. RECORD BOOK POINTS 2015 SEASON DRIVERS RACE FACTS SERIES INFO 14 Back-to-back dirts on the way for ARCA Racing Series ARCA PRESS RELEASE Aug. 5, 2015 (TOLEDO, Ohio - August 5, 2015) - The 53rd running of the SuperChevyStores.com 100 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds mile-dirt in Springfield is coming Sunday, August 23, followed up by the 62nd annual Southern Illinois 100 at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds mile-dirt Labor Day Monday. Back-to-back ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards dirt track adventures are on the way. Here s what some of the drivers are saying about racing on dirt. Will Kimmel: It s the best part of our schedule. If I could pick my top three places I d most like to win at, it d be Daytona, Salem and Springfield or DuQuoin. Racing these big heavy ARCA cars on dirt is the real deal; we should be doing more of it. Only thing better than running Springfield and DuQuoin is if we ran at night. Should have a dirt road course on the schedule, Kimmel added half-jokingly. Josh Williams: I love it. I think it s fun. That s why I like this series...because we go to dirt tracks. I d like to see even more dirt tracks on the schedule...it would make this deal even more interesting. Kelly Kovski: I think it s the best thing ARCA has going. If you look at those races, the car counts are better than most short tracks...the crowds are better...it s got a big fan base. You look at how many people go to Eldora to see the (NASCAR) Trucks... look how many people are tuned into that...social media goes crazy. I think NASCAR looked at ARCA and decided that they should be doing it too. Then (Tony) Stewart bought Eldora, and helped push it along. Now it s the most talked about event on NASCAR s schedule. The dirt separates the men from the boys. I hope ARCA goes to more dirt races. I think you d get more people to invest in the series. With the new rules packages, ARCA s already ahead of it future-wise. They ve got that figured out. If they add more dirt, it ll only help grow the fan base. Austin Wayne Self: I never raced on dirt till I got to ARCA, but it s what makes ARCA so unique. I think you get a wider spread of possibilities on the dirt...you get a lot of different drivers too...it sort of levels the playing field. It really tests the drivers and makes it more interesting for everyone. The surfaces usually get pretty hard like asphalt, but when it gets dusty and the tails start kicking out, it s hard to forget you re on dirt. I think it s cool. James Swanson: I absolutely love it. It s an equalizer for me. The smaller teams like ours stand a chance to run good. We don t change tires...run the whole race on the same set so we re already at a disadvantage, but the dirt helps equalize all that. Some of the hot dogs wreck in practice and it sets em back, so you have that going for you too. Frank Kimmel: It s one of the best things ARCA does... racing on the dirt. We absolutely should be doing it, and even more of it. I look forward to going to both dirts. It s really different than anything else we do. It s just neat to get to go to the fairgrounds. Enjoy the fairs, see the sites, grab some junk food. It s something we always look forward to each year. Tom Hessert: I think it s great. More often than not, the tracks are in great shape. I think it s absolutely terrific for the series. It s part of the diverse schedule ARCA s got...it d be a shame if we lost it. I love the whole weekend. I normally watch the Silver Crown cars the day before...i spot for Tracy Hines, so that s cool. Get to go to the fairs...it s great. One thing...i wish we ran at night under the lights...that d be about the only thing that would make it better. Ken Schrader: Springfield and DuQuoin are throwbacks to the old days...it s how our sport started at fairgrounds tracks across the country. Just regular old stock cars on dirt because that s what we had most of back then. Fortunately, the tradition carried on. Most of the mile-dirts are gone, but the state of Illinois still has the mile dirt championship stock car races. For many great drivers, it started at Springfield and DuQuoin. These events are not only great family fun, but very important to the character and traditions of our sport. Those events today are still special to me. It s just a different deal...with the fairs going on. The show takes on a different light. They re special events. Back when we were running (NASCAR) Cup, the crew would get the car to the fair...we d always come up early...get together with the Allgaier s...take Dorothy (his daughter) and Justin (Allgaier) to the fair. When the racing was done, we d stay at the Allgaier s house Sunday night. It was a lot of fun. ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Event Media Guide www.arcaracing.com

Race tightens for 2015 Calypso Short Track Challenge (TOLEDO, Ohio) Kyle Weatherman and Austin Wayne Self are continuing their battle atop of the Calypso Lemonade Short Track Challenge standings but neither driver can afford to look over their shoulder at this point - thats because series point leader Grant Enfinger is inching closer. I love it, Weatherman said of the Short Track Challenge It gives a 17-year-old like me something to shoot for. I come here to win the race no matter what, but you have other motivation to do well, too. I really enjoy it. I think it s a great idea they came up with this year. The Calypso Lemonades Short Track Challenge adds another exciting element to the overall national championship and opens new doors for competitors who do not run the full racing schedule. This includes drivers who are not eligible to race at superspeedways due to age restrictions and SCOTT Rookie Challenge Point standings 1. David Levine #59...344 2. Sarah Cornett-Ching #2...310 3. Kyle Weatherman #22...264 4. Brandon Jones #25...178 5. Blake Jones #38...126 teams electing to run less than a full 20-race season. While the Calypso Lemonades Short Track Challenge is comprised of the 11 short track events that make up the championship series, only a competitor s best 10 finishes will count towards overall point totals. Just like the Superspeedway Challenge, points for the Short Track Challenge will be allocated for race performance only beginning with 200 for first, and falling in five-point increments from there. The Short Track Challenge champion will be determined Sept. 19 at SCOTT Rookie Spotlight: David Levine Rookie Contenders Salem Speedway. While Enfinger looms more than 50 points behind Self and Weatherman now, once his lowest finishing short track race of 2015 is removed from the point calculation - he finished 19th at Toledo Speedway - it becomes a close, three-way battle for the title. The remaining events on the Calypso Lemonades Short Track Challenge schedule Illinois State Fairgrounds (Aug. 23), DuQuoin State Fairgrounds (Sept. 7) and at Salem Speedway (Sept. 19).
