Designed in 1972 by Joe Lee, Orange Tree Golf Club features 7036 yards of gorgeous fairways and greens; and with six sets of tees to choose from, Orange Tree Golf Club is the perfect course for players of all ages and skill levels. For 44 years we have been considered the hidden gem of Orlando, with a well-deserved reputation for excellence in design and course maintenance. We are a U.S. Open Local Qualifier, and Florida State Senior Open Qualifying course. Our greens have recently been replaced with Champion Bermuda grass and we feature what many consider to be the best three finishing holes in all of Florida The Loop. Orange Tree Golf Club is proud to host golf events and tournaments throughout the year. These include the Majors such as the Club Championship, Member-Guest, and Member-Member for men, women and juniors. These golf events enable members of all ages and abilities to experience the thrill of competitive golf in a familiar, friendly, and relaxed environment. All tournaments, games and leagues require a valid handicap. If you are new to golf, or have let your handicap lapse, the Pro Shop is happy to assist you. If you already have a handicap, please remember to post your scores! Orange Tree Golf Club is also host to several weekly events: FOR MEN: The Men s Club: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday 8:00 a.m. shotgun start The Men s Club has been a regular morning game for over 25 years, and is run by one or two members of the group. The format ranges from best ball to individual play with handicaps. The group plays year-round averaging 10-20 players in season, and 5-10 players during the summer. Scoring takes place in the restaurant over lunch. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 7:45 a.m. the morning of the game. Coach s Game: Tuesday and Thursday 12:00 noon shotgun start Legendary football player, coach, and former Athletic Director Steve Sloan started this game in 2009. Players are ranked A, B, C, D based on handicap and Captains pick teams. The format is decided by Coach Sloan and varies, but is usually a 2 or 3 Best Ball. The games averages 25-35 players in season and 15-20 during the summer. Pace of Play is under 4 hours and scoring takes place in the Bar area on the big screen TV. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 11:30 a.m. The Scratch Game: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 1:00 p.m. shotgun start The most competitive and popular of all the men s games, the Scratch Game was established in 1978 and has since become an OTGC institution! Scoring average in the game determines a player s ranking (A, B, C, D), as well as what tees to play. Captains pick teams and all six sets of tees are utilized in this game. Format is a 2 Best Ball, and Pace of Play is a brisk 3 ½ - 3 ¾ hour round. In-season the game boasts over 40 players, upwards of 70 at times! The Scratch Game still runs strong in the summer with 25-30 players per day. Scoring takes place in the Bar area on the big screen TV. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 12:15 p.m. Powerball Game: Saturday tee times start at 8:15 a.m. The newest game offered at OTGC, it is a full handicap game with various formats. Two-, three-, and fourperson teams with front, back and overall winners plus individual gross and net skin winners with validation. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 6 p.m. Friday night, or by 7:15 a.m. Saturday morning, latest.
FOR WOMEN: Orange Tree Women s Golf Association: Thursday 9 a.m. shotgun start You must be a member of the OTWGA to play in this weekly game. The format and competition is uniquely different each week and is determined by the OTWGA Tournament Chair(s). Both the Pro Shop and the Administration Office can assist you with joining this wonderful group of ladies. 20-25 players on average inseason (September-May) Scoring is done by Pro Shop staff in the Restaurant over lunch. Summer play varies and is open to all women members of OTGC. Ladies 9-Holers: Thursday 10 a.m. tee times This is also an OTWGA group open to beginners as well as intermediate players who enjoy a more relaxed game of golf. Ladies Game: Saturday 9 a.m. shotgun start Open to all women members of OTGC. Format is based on the number of players, and the Pace of Play is under four hours. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 8:30 a.m. Challenge Cup: September May season, dates and locations vary Challenge Cup is a ladies inter-club competition that consists of 10 matches between private golf and country clubs throughout Central Florida. Five 2-person teams from each club battle it out in Match-Play format to collect the most points. Season points winners from each division compete in the finals. You must be a 25 or less handicap to play. Teams are made by the Challenge Cup Captain. FOR JUNIORS: Wednesday 3-5 p.m. during the school year After school Junior Golf Camps are offered throughout the school year for golfers ages 6-17. Pro Shop staff offers golf instruction and teaches fundamentals, rules and fitness. Week-long Junior Golf Camps are offered in the summer: June-August FOR ALL GOLFERS: Every Friday during the summer 5:30 p.m. Sometimes called 9&Dine, this is a 2-person scramble format. Sign up in the Pro Shop by 5 p.m. The Pro Shop also puts together a once a month scramble/mixer during the in-season months. There is a yearly Employee-Member Scramble as well as holiday themed events. This is a great way to meet other members of Orange Tree and staff members that you might not normally play with in weekly leagues.
