Graphic and Identity Standards

Our Brand, Our Mission We want St. Thomas More Parish School to be the first choice for Southwest Houston families who believe that God, community, leadership, and service are the foundation of a learning environment. This Graphic & Identity Standards manual will help us share this vision in a consistent and appropriate way. Extensive research and planning have gone into shaping the STM brand. A consistent, uniform brand builds a reputation of stability, confidence and credibility in our school and its programs. Consistent and correct use of our visual identity, which includes our logo, mascot, school name, and school colors, builds equity in our brand and organization. As a primary reference tool, this guide will help individuals both within and outside our school to work together to deliver cohesive, consistently designed messages, so our communications are effective, attractive, and fully represent the STM brand. We appreciate your participation in the ongoing effort to promote STM in a consistent, integrated manner. In an effort to protect the integrity of our identity, it is mandatory that faculty, staff, alumni, students, supporters and commercial partners who participate in communicating the identity of St. Thomas More Parish School apply these guidelines without modification. No other logos or symbols should be developed or used. Please contact the school office should you need further information regarding the use of these Graphic & Identity Standards, additional logos or graphic elements not included with this guide, or assistance developing STM communication materials.

Usage Guidelines The St. Thomas More Parish School logo is the primary element of our visual identity package, and the cornerstone of our integrated marketing and recruitment program. As such, consistent and proper usage of the logo is essential. Some form of our brand must appear on every printed or electronic item that is distributed to students, school families, or the public, including but not limited to website materials, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, and memos, any textile including uniforms, t-shirts, caps, bags, or other forms of clothing, and any commercially produced item such as Spirit Store merchandise. Any vendor used for printing, screening, or stitching our identity on anything must be given a copy of the Official Guide to Brand Usage and Style (attached). Do not alter school stationery items in any way. Do not change, distort, stretch, or recreate the logo. Do not produce the logo from anything other than original artwork provided by the school office (for example, DO NOT copy and/or paste from a website or document). Use the correct acronym. STM is often used as an acronym for our school. Do not use St. Thomas or any other abbreviated version of the school name. STM should not contain any periods or spaces between the letters. In printed or published materials, any use of STM should follow the prior use of the full name, St. Thomas More Parish School. Artwork Approval Required. If you are creating materials or apparel on behalf of the athletic department, the PTO Spirit Store, any school event, or any student or school organization (including informal groups), all designs must be approved by the school principal prior to any order being placed. To submit artwork for approval, please email or deliver the following information to the school office: (1) your group name and/or a contact point, (2) the purpose for creating materials or apparel, and (3) a proposed design image or sample. If your project involves specific time constraints, those must be clearly communicated in your submission as well.

Brand Usage and Style Proper Use of Logo The St. Thomas More Cross and Feather shall be the official logo of the school for any administrative, business, academic, and official legal documents or uses. Our logo portrays the basic principles of Catholic education. The cross represents the central theme of Christianity, while the quill stands for scholarship. The unfinished circle emphasizes the never-ending quest for knowledge. Athletic Logos (effective August 2015) The STM mascot is the Tiger, and the following STM Tiger 2015 images are adopted as of August 2015 as the official athletic logos. The athletic logos should not be substituted for the official St. Thomas More Parish School official Cross and Feather logo which is used on all school documents. Athletic logos may be used in combination with the official Cross and Feather logo, but the symbols should not be crossed or overlapped. The STM Tiger 2015 logos are meant to replace all individual sport logos and are intended for use by the athletics staff as a whole, department, and/or team. Reasonable efforts should be made to adopt the STM Tiger 2014 logos to sports uniforms, club t-shirts, banners, signs, etc. All proposed artwork must be submitted to the school principal for approval prior to any order being placed, as set out in the Usage Guidelines above.
