CCDW CLASSES, LLC www.kyusca.com Phone 859-624-2500 www.kentuckyconcealedcarry.com Marty's Dailey News for January 2016 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS See Page 3 and/or contact me about the NRA Basic Pistol Class going ONLINE JANUARY 31, 2016 SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT Marty A. Dailey UNITED STATES CONCEALED CARRY ASSOCIATION USCCA TRAINING COUNSELOR #543843 NOW OFFERING Classes to Train USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS It was truly an honor to be one of five Kentucky individuals to be invited last July by the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) to attend their inaugural class of Training Counselors that was held December 5-6, 2016 in Wisconsin. I successfully completed the class and am now USCCA Training Counselor #543843. My first class to train USCCA Certified Instructors will be February 29-March 1, 2016. Because there are USCCA required pre-course preparations that one must complete BEFORE attending the class, you must contact me by February 20, 2016 if you want to register. Contact me ASAP for prerequisites, package pricing, and/or discounts on future classes you attend that I will be giving to those who attend the first class. ONLY TEN STUDENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN MY FIRST USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR CLASS ON February 29-March 1, 2016. My new website, www.kyuscca.com, will be up and running shortly with many details about USCCA programs. Copyright 2016 Marty's Dailey News for January 2016 ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Page 1 of 9

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR NRA INSTRUCTORS SEE PAGE 3 FOR MAJOR CHANGES COMING TO THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE. I will continue to teach INSTRUCTOR/TRAINER courses that will certify one to teach courses that provide certificates per KRS 237.110 to receive a KY CCDW PERMIT. If you want to teach courses for students to obtain a Kentucky CCDW Permit I will gladly train you to be an NRA INSTRUCTOR so you can teach the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course. 1) The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course is now approved by the Kentucky State Police for receiving a KY CCDW Permit. 2) The teaching materials given to students in the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course include professionally created full-color books and pamphlets with color photographs rather than black and white drawings. 3) $15 per student is the approximate cost to the trainer to provide the materials for an NRA Basic Pistol Shooting course 4) The price to the student of an NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course is set by the trainer and in many states is from $100-$150 and is NOT FIXED BY KENTUCKY LAW. 5) When one teaches the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course there is little risk of being charged with a FELONY if the class is taught improperly. However, one could lose their credentials and have civil liability as in any other class one teaches. 6) Again, the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is currently working with the Kentucky State Police to have a class approved for the KY CCDW Permit. The above items are also true for the USCCA course. I AM A USCCA INSTRUCTOR. NRA BASIC PISTOL SHOOTING COURSE CAN NOW BE USED FOR KY CCDW PERMIT As of June 24, 2015 the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course can now be used to obtain a KY CCDW Permit in lieu of the KY CCDW Applicant Course. Those of you who are NRA Pistol Instructors must be sure to complete the certificate from the Basic Pistol Packet for each student who successfully completes your NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course because it is required to apply for the KY CCDW Permit. In addition the student must download the Legal Handout from the DOCJT website in order to certify he/she has read and understands the legal handout using KSP FORM CCDW 005/JULY 2015. This form will be provided online when the applicant applies at the KSP website or provided by the Sheriff s Office when applying there. NRA Basic Pistol Class going ONLINE JANUARY 31, 2016 I talked with JOHN HOWARD at the NRA and he told me the NRA Basic Pistol Course is GOING ONLINE by JANUARY 31, 2016. He also told me the Per John Howard the cost for the ONLINE PORTION will be $50 to $75, PROBABLY $75. (Emphasis mine) The Basic Pistol Course PACKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO INSTRUCTORS after January 31. Students will come to you after they do the online portion for you to do PHASE II of the Basic Pistol Course. Go to www.nrainstructors.org and download the PHASE II course plan. I did work with the Kentucky State Police and John Howard several weeks ago to have the online course approved but the cost is prohibitive for Kentucky due to the DOCJT $75 cap. The best option is to become a USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR. CONTACT ME ASAP FOR DETAILS. You can WRITE YOUR OWN CLASS as an NRA or USCCA (soon) Instructor. See Page 4 for DETAILS ON USCCA CERTIFIED INSTRUCTOR COURSE or go to www.kyuscca.com.
