March 2016 Indiana State Auxiliary Bulletin From the Desk of State President Donna Dear Sisters, Wow! Is February over aleady? Where has the year gone? Good thing this is leap year...it gives me an extra day to get my letter finished! February was a busy, busy month for us! We started the month on February 6 at Evansville, River City for a fundraiser. I got to wear an awesome snowman outfit that I gave to PMP Sally Carr afterward. She will surely want to wear it when I get in the Past Madam President's Club! Lol! February 13th found us in Lawrenceburg for their anniversary party. It was a great turn out, and a great time was had by all as usual down there! February 19th and 20th, we were in Bowling Green or the 7-State, no 6-State, no 5-State Conference! The new hotel in Bowling Green is awesome, and it allowed us to have separate workshops for the aerie and auxiliary again. If you were unable to attend this year, please make plans to go next year...i don't think you will be disappointed! I rode the winning horse for Indiana in the horse races and made $372.00 for Hands in Autism! This past weekend, the 27th, we wrapped February up in Washington for a fundraiser. It was a great time, and although they didn't give me a total, I was told they did great! March will open with Grand Madam President Penny Skinner in Indiana! I am picking her up at the airport in Cincinnati on Thursday March 3, and taking her to my home auxiliary in Batesville. Friday, we will be in Lafayette for lunch, and heading down to Beech Grove for ladies night! Saturday, we will be stopping in Bedford for the afternoon, and heading down to Shoals for their State Project Bingo in the evening. Sunday, Penny will be in Vincennes, and Monday, she will be in Evansville. Please try to come and meet Penny if you can at one of our stops...she is an awesome lady, and I know you will love her! March 12th we will be in Anderson for a fundraiser, followed by our Zone 3 meeting in Muncie on Sunday. March 19th, Ft. Wayne 3512 is having the State Team perform the Anniversary Ritual. Please try to go and support the team! They are wonderful! I will not be able to attend, as I will be in Omaha with Gary as he attends his incoming presidents meeting, but I will be thinking about you all for sure! The last weekend in March will find us home for Easter! I love Easter, with the start of the beautiful Spring season, and the celebration of our Risen Savior, it's like a re-birth for all of us! Gary proposed to me on Easter, and that makes it even more special! It will be 13 years this year since he proposed, and he has made me very happy since then! If you are celebrating a birthday in March, I wish you much joy and many more Happy Birthdays! If you are celebrating an anniversary in March, I wish you happiness and joy with the love of your life! Please keep those who may be ill, or fighting a personal battle close in your prayers. We can't imagine what these friends are going through, and they need our love and prayers. For those of you who may have made a reservation at the LaQuinta for the State Convention, PLEASE call the hotel as soon as possible to confirm your reservation! There has been a change of ownership for this hotel, and the reservations for the convention may or may not be held! I want to see everybody at the convention, so make sure you have a room! If any of you ladies have ever thought about running for a State Office, why not do it? We need quality State Officers, and although it is a commitment, it is a ride you will never forget! The friendships I have formed with my Indiana sisters, and the memories made in my years as a state officer are treasures I will carry in my heart forever! Come and join us on this amazing journey! I leave you with one final thought: "The struggle you are in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow". See you down the Eagle Trail my beautiful sisters! I love you all, and it is my honor to be YOUR State President!
