We hope, in these pages, you will look back and remember your own story. Thank you all for everything you do to support the Lottery and Property Tax Relief in Wisconsin! Ideas and Information for RETAILERS

Note from the Director September 2018 2 This month is the culmination of everything we have been building towards all year. Our official birthday is September 14. To celebrate, we have the party of the year planned. Two hundred lucky players have been invited to a Brewers tailgate party on Saturday, September 15th at Miller Park. After all the fun we have had this year, we are sad to see things winding down, so we would like to take you on a stroll down memory lane with us. On pages 4 & 5, we have put together a timeline highlighting major achievements and product releases since our inception. We have grown so much in the last 30 years and want to thank you, our retailers, for all your support and hard work. You truly have helped us become what we are today. Cindy Polzin Lottery Director In addition to our birthday this month, we are doing a special Powerball Bonus Drawing. We need your help to educate players on this unique opportunity. The campaign runs until September 30, 2018 OR until the 9,999,999 Bonus Draw numbers have been generated. The $250,000 Bonus Draw drawing will be held on October 4, 2018. For more details see the back cover of this newsletter or contact your Lottery representative. As summer winds down and the kids head back to school, we at the Lottery are thankful for the amazing 30 years we have had and are looking forward to the next 30 years. SECURITY CORNER The Importance of Keeping an Inventory of Your Instant Games Many times we receive calls about stolen or lost tickets from retailers. One of the main questions retailers ask about is their inventory. This information is needed by the police for their reports, by the insurance companies for reimbursement, and by the Lottery to be able to mark the tickets as stolen. While the Lottery knows which packs are assigned to individual retailers, it is the responsibility of the retailer to know the exact number of tickets sold and on hand. There are also times when we see employee thefts reach large dollar amounts before they are suspected of stealing. These losses could be minimized by keeping good inventory records, which would raise a red flag immediately when the numbers don't add up. This would also act as a deterrent for employee theft as they would know the inventory would be off if tickets were stolen. The Wisconsin Lottery has forms available that can be used by retailers for this purpose. Just as you would keep track of inventory with other items at your locations, you can use the forms to help do the same for your instant games. These forms can be found at retailer.wilottery.com located on the main page in the Quick Links section under Forms. There are various forms you can use under "Accounting for instant tickets" section. The pictures to the left show examples of the forms available to download from the website.

September 2018 3 Express Pantry 8530 W. Greenfield Ave. West Allis, 53214 Pravin Patel owner/manager This month we travel to the city of West Allis in Milwakee County, home to the second oldest operating motor speedway in the world, the Milwaukee Mile. Originally a dirt track, the Milwaukee Mile was paved in1954. Prior to motor sports, the site was home to horse racing. The infield of the quarter-mile dirt infield track was once the location of a football stadium, informally known as the Dairy Bowl. NFL games were occasionally played there including the 1939 NFL Championship Game. Our Retailer of the Month, Express Pantry, is within walking distance of the Milwaukee Mile, as well as Wisconsin State Fair Park and Pettit National Ice Arena. Owned and managed by Pravin Patel, known as "Peter" by his customers, Express Pantry is just across the street from the locally well-known Mama Mia's Italian Restaurant. Peter receives a lot of foot traffic from all the special events in the area and he greets the travelers as if they are regulars. He carries 36 facings of scratch tickets and always has the latest and greatest on hand. Their biggest selling price points are $5, $10, and $20 tickets. Peter, has owned Express Pantry since 2003. He also owns RR Foods in South Milwaukee and Hawley Food Mart in Milwaukee. Peter prides himself on great customer service and the cleanliness of his store. If he doesn t have an item a customer wants, he will gladly order it in. Peter also offers curb side service for his disabled/handicapped patrons. He has recently remodeled and updated the entire building to make it more efficient and customer friendly. The Wisconsin Lottery was so impressed with his store, we recently filmed an upcoming commercial there. Be sure to stop by Express Pantry if you're in the area and check it out for yourself! Dave Zeker has been with the Lottery for over 10 years. He calls on Milwaukee and part of Waukesha County. West Allis is located in between Hwy 94 and Hwy 41 in Milwaukee County.
