RULES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR 4H SHOW EXHIBITORS 2015 Clover Classic Danny Bullington: Show Manager 1. Exhibitors must be a 4H member in grades 4 12 and may only show in all Walk/Trot or Walk/Trot/Canter classes. No W/T/C riders will be allowed to show in W/T classes. This rule applies to the rider. No exceptions. 2. Dogs on show grounds must be leashed no dogs in the arenas 3. Exhibitors shall act as ladies and gentlemen at all times. It is mandatory that exhibitors be polite, good sportsmen, and properly attired in clean and neat clothing. Elimination for infraction of this rule shall be at the discretion of the show committee. Parents and/or chaperones and supporters of an exhibitor must conduct themselves in a proper manner according to 4H objectives of good sportsmanship and citizenship. Improper behavior by parent/chaperone and supporters or trainers can result in the elimination of the exhibitor at the discretion of the Show Manger/Committee. 4. Exhibitor must be responsible for selection, management and care of his/her horse. 5. Exhibitor will be responsible for tack, horse and personal items. 6. No stallions will be permitted. Horses shown in performance classes must be at least three years of age as of January 1 of current year. 7. Only authorized persons will be allowed in the show ring. 8. Exhibitor must be in proper dress for the classes they are showing in. Boots are required. 9. ASTMI approved helmets with chin strap properly fastened are required for all 4-H youth while mounted and are considered proper attire for all classes. 10. Adults may request a helmet waiver form from show management. 4-H ers may not even if they are 18. 11. Fastening exhibitor s feet/legs to saddle or stirrups WILL NOT BE PERMITTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 12. Judge s decisions are final. Any dispute may be submitted to the show committee in writing. 13. Parents, chaperones and exhibitors may not address judge/judges concerning rules or judging procedures. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in exhibitor and parent/chaperone/trainer dismissal from show grounds and forfeiture of points accrued by exhibitor. 14. Proof of negative Coggins test must be presented before unloading horses on the day of show. 15. Every animal must be under control at all times and may be disqualified if considered by the judges and/or the show committee to be in any way undesirable, untrained, unfit, or improperly turned out. If the show committee or judge deems a horse unsafe, the class will be held until the rider is excused. All judges decisions are final. 16. All ranch classes consist of Walk/Jog/Lope. 17. Horses entered in the country pleasure classes are only eligible to enter showmanship, halter, equitation, and trail. Exhibitors may show in western or English attire but not a combination of both. 18. All fence classes are considered canter classes with the exception of cross rails which is W/T. No jump classes will be considered for high point. 19. Exhibitors in jump classes will be allotted 5 minutes to complete the course. Exhibitors will be excused after 5 minutes or 3 refusals. 20. Other rules as detailed in the TN 4H Horse Show Handbook apply to all competitors. 21. Please keep in mind that the show committee has made every effort to provide a show that will help to prepare 4-H members for the upcoming regional and state shows. Complaints and suggestions should be submitted to the Show Manager in writing. 22.
