SPA 719-487-2614 Hours of Operation Tuesday Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm Keeping your skin hydrated. This is a challenge for many living in Colorado. Applying lotion or cream becomes a daily routine, sometimes multiple times throughout the day. Finding a good lotion is important for skin health, but you may be forgetting another important step that will help you keep a fresh and healthy look. Exfoliation If you do not have this as part of your regular skin care, lotion or cream may not be as effective. When you exfoliate, you are removing dead skin cells which may build up and clog pores, keeping the moisture you are wanting out. For those who do exfoliate their skin regularly, it is important to make sure you are doing your entire body and not just the face, hands, or feet. You also need to be careful with how often you do this. The goal of exfoliation is to keep your skin feeling softer and looking healthier, not red and irritated. If you scrub too hard or too often you may end up removing healthy skin, which could leave you feeling sore. In general, 2 times a week is enough to reap the benefits on both the body and the face. If you have sensitive skin, more than once a week may irritate you. Pay attention to your body and develop a schedule on your personal needs. There are many scrubs available with different intensities so you can find what works best for you. You can also use regular body wash on a loofah or washcloth for your body. Do not exfoliate around your eyes. This area is very sensitive and doesn t need it. The Spa has 2 great examples for different exfoliation, our Sugar Scrub and Hydration Body Treatment. The Sugar Scrub uses sugar granules as the exfoliation. This is a little more abrasive and should only be used on the body. The Hydration Treatment uses the Yonka product Gommage, which is a gentle exfoliating peel. This Gommage is available in a stronger form for the body and a gentler product for the face. Unsure or nervous about receiving a Body Treatment? Ever wonder if our Body Treatments work? The Spa offers a Sugar Scrub with either a massage or facial, a Hydrating Treatment, Detoxifying Treatment, and a Contouring Treatment. Join us Wednesday, January 16 th from 4-5:30pm to learn about the products in these treatments and how they do what is claimed. There will be a little hands-on experience as well as free wine! Call to reserve your spot today! ~Limited to 16 people~ 10
