President s Report Gosh - I can t believe we are nearing the end of August. The last club night was excellent. Thanks to everyone who helped out on the door as well as setting up and packing up at the end of the night. The new committee have hit the ground running. It goes without saying that there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes and following the AGM we find ourselves 2-3 committee members short of our quota. If you have a few hours spare every month and are keen to join the team, please let me know (you will be welcomed with open arms). On the flip side, committees may not be everyone s cup of tea so if you can help out in any way, please let us know. Here are some jobs that we would welcome your support and assistance with: Sign up for the front desk roster on Monday nights or on Hop nights. It s a great way to meet other members. Help set up for Hops. We usually start at 6pm - many hands make light work! Similarly, please help clear up after Hops. If we have 7-8 volunteers, we can be out of the hall in 30 minutes max. There are only 59 sleeps to go until Senior Nationals. Make sure you block out Labour Weekend in your diary and more importantly ORDER YOUR TICKETS from Phyl (peterphylh@yahoo.com). The Wellington region is lucky to have the competition hosted locally. You won t be disappointed - top national dancers, great music, plus plenty of opportunities to dance and meet rock n rollers from all around the country. More importantly, we need to support our club competitors so please come along and add your voice. Looking forward to seeing you on Monday or at the next hop. Cheers, Paula 5
