COLORADO ROCKIES (2-3) vs. SAN DIEGO PADRES (2-3) RHP Chad Bettis (0-0, 8.44) vs. RHP James Shields (0-1, 4.50) Game #6 / Home #3 Sunday, April 10, 2016 COLD HARD FACTS The Rockies have dropped their first two home games of 2016 to the San Diego Padres... surrendered 16 runs in last night s game, the first time the Rockies have allowed 16 or more runs since doing so at home against Arizona on June 4, 2014. The 13-run margin of defeat was the largest for the Rockies since losing 20-5 on May 26, 2008 at Philadelphia... it was their largest margin of defeat at Coors Field since losing 15-2 on May 13, 2007 vs. San Francisco. THEY GOT IT RIGHT The Rockies challenged three calls last night and all three were overturned... it was the first time in franchise history that the Rockies successfully challenged three calls... two of the challenges were in the fifth inning, which marked the first time that the Rockies successfully challenged two plays in one inning. THINGS WILL GET BETT-ER Chad Bettis will make his first home start of 2016 today... it will be his second start of the season after receiving no decision last Tuesday at Arizona (5.1 IP, 5 ER, 2 HR, 3 BB, 4 SO) in the Rockies 11-6 loss. In three career starts against San Diego, Bettis is 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA (14.0 IP, 4 ER), JUST EPIC Trevor Story hit two home runs Friday in his Coors Field debut. He hit two on Opening Day in Arizona in his Major-league debut, another on Tuesday, and another on Wednesday according to the Elias Sports Bureau, that makes him the only Major League player in history to hit home runs in his first four career games. The home runs in four games is the longest streak of games with a home run to begin a season in Rockies franchise history (previous: Charles Johnson, three-straight games with a home run to begin the 2004 season) and tied for the longest streak in Major League history (also: Chris Davis, 2013; Nelson Cruz, 2011; Mark McGwire, 1998; Willie Mays, 1971). Story is also the only player in MLB history to record six home runs in his team s first four games and the first player in history to record two games with multiple home runs within his first four career games. 2016 Rockies vs. Padres (0-2) Date H/R Result WP LP 4/8 H L Erlin (1-0) Lyles (0-1) 4/9 H L Pomeranz (1-0) De La Rosa (0-1) 4/10 H 2:10 p.m. MDT 5/2 R 8:10 p.m. MDT 5/3 R 8:10 p.m. MDT 5/4 R 1:40 p.m. MDT 6/3 R 8:40 p.m. MDT 6/4 R 8:10 p.m. MDT 6/5 R 7:10 p.m. MDT 6/10 H 6:40 p.m. MDT 6/11 H 2:10 p.m. MDT 6/12 H 2:10 p.m. MDT 9/8 R 8:10 p.m. MDT 9/9 R 8:40 p.m. MDT 9/10 R 6:40 p.m. MDT 9/11 R 2:40 p.m. MDT 9/16 H 6:40 p.m. MDT 9/17 H 6:10 p.m. MDT 9/18 H 2:10 p.m. MDT 2016 vs. SD... 0-2 2016 at Coors Field... 0-2 2016 at Petco Park... 0-0 All-Time vs. SD... 195-185 All-Time at Coors Field...98-82 All-time at Petco Park...54-56 COLORADO ROCKIES GAME NOTES 20TH & BLAKE facebook.com/rockies Colorado Rockies Communications Coors Field 2001 Blake Street Denver, CO 80205 www.rockies.com The first four hits of his career were home runs, and is now the first player in Major League history to hit home runs as his first four career hits... the six home runs are the most within a player s first four career games in Major League history.
