If you withdraw from a course up to three full working days in advance of its starting date, you will receive a full refund minus a $10 processing fee NO REFUND if you cancel on the day the class begins NO REFUNDS will be made after the class has started, regardless of attendance NOTES: The grades indicated for each camp reflect the 2013-2014 school year. Summer Enrichment Camps have a minimum number of participants needed to run the camp as well as a maximum number of participants. T-shirts are not included in Enrichment Camps. Join others in discovering the fun in role-playing, improvising, rehearsing, costuming and performing. Date and time: 5 days August 12-16 (M-F) from 9 a.m. noon o Performance for Friends and Families at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 16 Fee for students: $80 Location: Highlands Middle School/Café (4645 Chandy Dr NE) Meet the Instructor: Rosanne Steffens is an Art Teacher at Godfrey Elementary. She has been teaching theatre camp to kids from age 7 to 19 since 1993. She worked with the theatre education programs at GR Civic Theatre, Byron Center and Kenowa Hills Performing Art Center. Rosanne has directed plays for Northview HS since 2004-2011. She has extensive experience both onstage and backstage as an actress, director, set designer and stage manager. Food Science Fun (Grades K-3) Learn about the chemistry behind some of your favorite foods. In this program, students get to extract the iron out of breakfast cereal and grape juice. Baking soda is used to inject air bubbles in your cake. A lemon transforms into a battery. And pennies look brand new after a bath in taco sauce! The math theme of the week is measurement! Students may want to bring a small snack and water bottle. Director: Mind Boggle Science Camps Camp Dates: June 17 20 (M-Th) Cost: $80.00 Location: North Oakview (Art Room #603) 4300 Costa NE Time: 9:00am - Noon Super Sonic Science of Sound (Grades K-3) A dog may not be able to talk, but he has hearing fit for a superhero! Faster than the speed of sound, and able to calculate wavelength and frequency in a single day, get ready for Super Sonic Science! Kids get a kick out of learning about the fundamental properties of sound waves in this fun camp. The math theme of the week is math games and puzzles! The camp provides an introduction to basic offensive and defensive fundamentals. Daily sessions will include instruction, demonstration, and the practice of proper techniques for shooting, passing, dribbling, and defending the basketball. The camp features contests involving the execution of the learned fundamentals. Offensive and defensive team concepts will be introduced in which campers will be able to practice in scrimmage situations. Students attending four weeks of camp will earn a MEDAL. Students attending six weeks of camp will earn a TROPHY. Intermediate/Advanced Players (suggested grades 4-9): 9:45am-11:30am 30 minutes of instruction plus drills, match play, games, & conditioning. Includes free optional membership into Northview s intercity competitive tennis team which plays other area teams in scheduled matches. A schedule of matches will be handed out at camp.
