FROM THE GOLF PRO You blink an eye and half of the summer is over! That is the way it feels for me right now and I am guessing I am not the only one who feels the same way. We had our Senior Club Championship take place for the men and women last month. Congratulations to Dr. Terry Stepnick who won our Gross and Net Senior Championships for the men. In the Ladies Division, Pat Kirk was our WGA Seniors Champion. Congratulations to all of our champions. Our Junior Golf Season is once again in full swing. It is very exciting for the Golf Staff to see so many young, eager faces out at the club on a continuous basis. We started a brand new PGA Junior Interclub League this season competing against teams from South Hills, Allegheny, Montour Heights, and Diamond Run. As a club, we will be hosting our 4th Annual Men s August Invitational on August 11 th 13 th. The Men s Gross and Net Club Championships will also be held in August. Those will take place the weekend of August 20 th 21 st. The sign up sheet is posted in the Men s Locker Room. We also have our Ladies Invitational on Tuesday, August 23 rd and that sign up sheet is posted in the Ladies Locker Room. The Ladies Yenny Club Championship will also be held during this Championship Month. The Ladies will play on August 16 th, 18 th, and 19 th for this coveted title. As the summer has hit full swing, many members have talked to me about the amount of ball marks that are not getting fixed on our greens. When playing, please keep in mind this is your golf course. Please fix any unrepaired ball marks and repair all divots. Together we can keep this as the best conditioned course in Western PA. For the past year, you have probably noticed our weekly email and SWAT sign ups coming from an ECC Golf email address which is golfshop@eccgolf.com. We created this email address so when you reply to sign up for a club event or want to make a tee time via email, any member of the golf shop staff will be able to help you. This will allow for faster service and quicker response times to all your golfing needs. As always, if you still need to reach me, I am always available via email at pmicklewright@eccgolf.com. Thank you and please save this new email address to your personal contacts if you had not done so in the past year. There is something for everybody in August. If you have any questions or need anything from the Golf Shop staff, please do not hesitate to ask. We will see you at the club. The team was started this year and competed against teams from South Hills, Allegheny, Montour Heights, and Diamond Run.
