For the 47th year, it is our pleasure to present The Little Brown Jug. It is our hope that we can provide every golfer with a tournament experience that they will enjoy, remember and hope to have again. As in all previous Jugs, the Committee has looked long and hard at how we can best present participants with the highest quality tournament in New England. Like last year we will not have the Friday buffet. Instead, each golfer will receive a $20 chit in their registration packet. This can be used anytime on Friday at our restaurant allowing all players the opportunity to eat when they finish their round. We wish every participant the best of luck and will do our best to make your Jug tournament the most enjoyable golfing experience of 2018! Entries: For teams who have played in the past, no explanation is required regarding guaranteed tournament entry. For the newcomers, be aware that certain teams (not players with new partners) from last year have a guaranteed entry this year based on their finish last year. Other teams will be accepted based on previous participation and performance, team handicap and Jug Board selection committee. All entries must be submitted by August 3rd. Late entries will not be accepted. Format: Tournament format is 54 hole, gross better ball medal play. Notes: We will be adhering to the USGA 4-Ball Stroke Play recommendation 9-4; It is recommended that in 4-Ball Stroke Play Competition, if the course HCP of the side differs by more than 8 strokes, each is reduced by 10%. The Tournament Committee retains the right to place teams in divisions based on past performance. To simplify and expedite the registration process on Friday, all tournament fees are paid in advance. Please see application for your two options, Walkers & Riders. The Little Brown Jug would like to go paperless in the future. We ask that you supply us with your e-mail address so future correspondences can be done electronically. ALL entries, including Playing Sponsors must be received before August 3 rd.
Setting the Field: The low 28 Team combined HCP. Index will automatically qualify for the Championship Division. Championship/ 1 st Division: The low 14 scores after completion of Friday s round will comprise the Championship Division. In event of a tie, the lowest Team HCP. Index will remain in Championship Division. The remaining 14 Teams will comprise the 1 st Division. These Divisions will play the Jug tees. 2 nd / 3 rd Division: The next low 28 Team HCP. Index will qualify for 2 nd and 3 rd Division. After completion of Friday s round, the low 14 team scores will comprise the 2 nd Division. The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 3 rd Division. These Divisions will play from the Blue tees. 4 th / 5 th Divisions: The next low 28 Team HCP. Index will qualify for 4 th and 5 th Division. After completion of Friday s round, the low 14 team scores will comprise the 4 th Division. The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 5 th Division. These Divisions will play from the White tees. 6 th / 7 th Divisions: The next low 28 Team HCP. Index will qualify for 6 th and 7 th Division. After completion of Friday s round, the low 14 team scores will comprise the 6 th Division. The remaining 14 teams will comprise the 7 th Division. These Divisions will play from the Gold tees.
