DISTRICT 8 REFEREE PANEL District 8 is happy to announce the formation of the Referee Panel The goal of this panel is to ensure the consistency and quality to all District 8 competitions by enforcing the ISI guidelines and procedures. The members of this panel have gone through a training program endorsed by the ISI national office and ISI Chief Referee Margy Bennett. Each referee is a current ISI professional member, gold certified and active judge for the past five years. The formation of this panel was introduced, cultivated and voted upon by the District 8 competition and rink directors and passed by a majority vote. Each competition is required to participate in this pilot program. Each competition will be supplied with at least one (in some instances two) District 8 referee to ensure quality judging and rule interpretation. Each competition will now require an additional $2 per competitor and $15 team entry fee to support this program. Thank you for supporting the district s continued efforts to provide fair and positive experiences for all its skaters, parents and coaches. 2

Each skating level will be divided by age groups according to enrollment. In instances where there may be large or small enrollment in any age group, we reserve the right to divide or combine age groups. When only one skater is entered in an event, that skater must earn 80% of the total possible points to receive first place, otherwise, the skater will receive second place. Members of USFS who are individual members of ISI are eligible to compete in accordance with the ISI/USFS Joint Statement Policy. USFS members should obtain written permission from their home club 30 days prior to the competition. Skaters must pass the ISI tests to compete in any ISI competition events. Skaters who have only passed USFS tests should refer to the chart on the next page to determine the appropriate competition level. 3
