West Virginia Strawberry Festival Association JUNIOR ROYALTY REVUE Pageant April 7th, 2018 1:00 p.m. West Virginia Wesleyan College Law Center for Performing Arts GIRL S DIVISION: All divisions will model casual wear (no bodysuits, no swimsuits) and party wear. ss 4-5 years short party dress with ruffled socks ss 6-7 years knee length party dress ss 8-9 years party dress, knee length or tea length ss 10-11 years knee length, tea length, or long gown Junior Queen* 12-13 years tea length or long gown NO FULLY SEQUINED OR BEADED GOWNS IN ANY DIVISION *Only the Queen Division will have an interview BOY S DIVISION: All divisions will model casual wear and party wear. 4-5 years 6-7 years 8-9 years 10-11 years Junior King 12-13 years AWARDS: Each age division will have three (3) places: Princess or Prince (Crown, banner, plaque) 1st Maid or Page (Banner, plaque) 2nd Maid or page (Banner, plaque) King (crown, banner, scepter, plaque) Queen (crown, banner, scepter, plaque) STRAWBERRY SPIRIT will be awarded to one (1) girl and one (1) boy from the 4-5 age division. (Strawberry Spirit will be selected by the news media, banner and plaque awarded.)
West Virginia Strawberry Festival Association RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Entry fee is $70.00. Make checks payable to the WV Strawberry Festival Association, Inc. A child may be sponsored by parents and/or business firms. (Parents are responsible for obtaining all sponsors.) 2. This pageant is NOT sanctioned. 3. Pageant will be held on West Virginia Wesleyan College Campus Law Center for Performing Arts College Ave. 4. Casual Wear should be something to represent the Strawberry. 5. Contestants will be judged on personality projected from stage, poise, charm, attire, etc. 6. No props of any kind (umbrellas, basket, sports equipment. etc.) 7. Casual wear - may be jumpsuits, knickers, shorts, 2-piece pantsuits, etc. No Swim Suits! 8. No special modeling routine: you will be following an upside down "T" pattern. 9. Out-of-area- judges will be selected for the Revue. (JUDGES DECISION WILL BE FINAL.) Please be a good sport and be courteous to all Judges. 10. Age of the child on January 1, 2018 determines which division he or she will be placed. 11. All contestants will receive a participation award. 12. DEADLINE for all entries will be March 17 th 2018. 13. Division winners must participate in all festival events week of May 12-20, 2018 14. Participant must be a resident of the State of West Virginia. 15. The WV Strawberry Festival Association will not assume responsibility for any lost, stolen items. 16. The WVSF is not responsible for any accidents or personal care of any contestant or contestant s family or guest. 17. JUNIOR ROYALTY REVUE SCHEDULE 9:00 am REGISTRATION: Contestant s number goes on Right Side for all modeling events. 9:30 am REHEARSAL: When your group is finished, you may leave for lunch. Be back by 11:45 AM 10:00 am INTERVIEW: Queen's Division ONLY (casual wear outfit). 12:00 pm Get ready for Casual Wear Modeling (look for group leaders). 12:30 pm PARENTS: All parents must leave children with group leaders and be seated in the auditorium. Only one parent may be in the dressing room with child. Parent must have on a Festival Ribbon. 1:00 pm CASUAL WEAR MODELING: Each contestant must wear either a Strawberry Motif outfit or a Red and White outfit. We want to celebrate the WV Strawberry Festival Be creative! When each child is finished on stage, they will return to the dressing rooms. 15 minute Intermission - Get ready for PARTY WEAR MODELING. Please report to your group leader in the Dressing Rooms. PLEASE BE READY. When child is with group leader, parents are to be seated in the auditorium. AWARDS TO FOLLOW During all competition & intermission, we must keep the children in their groups. The groups will be taken to dressing rooms and entertained. (NO ONE IS TO LEAVE HIS OR HER GROUP.) If there is a problem with your child, the group leader will find you. After the revue is over, you may pick up your child in the Dressing Room. REMINDER: Video taping IS NOT permitted in the auditorium on the day of the revue. Professional video taping is provided. (orders will be taken in the Registration Area.) Official photographer will be taking pictures in the dressing room area. They will have different price packages for sale. DRESSING ROOMS: Rooms are provided. Everyone must check in at the registration table. RESTROOMS: Located on the sides. TICKETS: Will be on sale during rehearsal and at the door. Adults: $7.00 / Children (12 & under): $4.00
