[ Indianapolis Indians // Communications Department ] [ IndyIndians.com // (317) 269-3524 ] THE INDIANS... Snapped Gwinnett's seven-game win streak by recording their 15th shutout in a 4-0 win last night to avoid the road sweep... Enter their 114th season of continuous operation this year since the current franchise was established in 1902... The team traces its roots back to 1887, making it 126 years of professional baseball in the Circle City. TREANOR TERCERO: With 455 wins at the helm of the Indians, Dean Treanor (2011-) tied Wade Killefer (1933-37, 1941) for third all-time in Indianapolis managerial wins... J.C. Hendricks (1914-17, 1919-23) is first with 764... Including Treanor, only three managers in the top 10 skippered the Tribe in the last 40 years (Dave Miley, Trent Jewett). HUSTLIN' HANSON: Alen Hanson stole his league-leading 30th base in Thursday's contest... He did not reach 30 steals last season until Aug. 30... He's twice recorded 35 steals (2012, 2015), his career high... 30 steals rank second in his career. JOSE! JOSE! JOSE!: Jose Osuna homered in three straight contests before doubling in last Sunday's game... He's now hit safely in 12 straight contests and has compiled a.361 (13x36) average over that span with five doubles and three homers... 13 of his 23 hits have gone for extra bases as he's compiled a.564 slugging percentage... Seven of his extra-base hits have come at Victory Field, including each of his four home runs. RISPY BUSINESS: Indy has struggled to convert its scoring chances of late... Tribe hitters are 7-for-61 with runners in scoring position over their last 10 contests... The Tribe is averaging 1.9 runs per game over that span. COLD IN JULY: The Indians have ensured a sub-.500 finish in a month for the first time this season with a current record of 11-15... The team closes the month with a three-game set against the IL South's Norfolk Tides, which comes in with a 41-64 record... Since reaching a season-best eight games over.500 (39-31) while in first on June 20, the Indians have gone 14-21 as Columbus has gained a four-game lead... The 14 wins include a four-game sweep of Charlotte. CELEBRATE HISTORY: Tonight, the Tribe recognizes the heritage of the Negro American League's Indianapolis Clowns as part of its annual Civil Rights Night... The Tribe will don specialty Clowns jerseys that will be auctioned to benefit Play Ball Indiana.
