16-101 Parks and Recreation 16-107 Part 1 Park Rules and Regulations A. Prohibited Uses 16-101. Destructive Use of Grass Areas. Grass areas must not be used for roadways, parking, or other purposes which may injure or destroy the turf or landscaping. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 1) 16-102. Disturbance of Plant Life. Trees, shrubs, hedges, berries, wild flowers, or other flowers must not be picked, cut, broken, or injured in any way whatsoever. No person shall climb any tree, or attach any swing thereon. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 2) 16-103. Disturbance of Structures. Buildings, structures, fences, statuary, fountains, benches, or signs must not be injured or defaced in any way. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 3) 16-104. Littering. Paper, rubbish, litter, or any refuse whatsoever must not be scattered, but must be deposited in receptacles provided for that purpose. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 4) 16-105. Molestation and Abandonment of Animals; Impoundment. Birds, squirrels, rabbits, deer, ducks, or any other wild creatures may not be hunted, injured, killed, or in any manner molested. Abandonment of any domestic animal (dogs and cats and the like) is likewise forbidden. Any animal found at large may be seized and impounded. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 5) 16-106. Disorderly Conduct. Lotteries or other gambling or games of chance, drunkenness, disorderly conduct, and profane language are prohibited. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 6) 16-107. Maintenance of Vehicles Restricted. No person shall clean, polish, grease, lubricate, or make repairs to any vehicle, except those of a minor nature and then only in case of emergency. 16-108 Township of Baldwin 16-110 16-108. Alcoholic Beverages Prohibited. The serving or drinking of beer, liquor, or other intoxicating beverages is prohibited. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 8) 16-109. Unlawful Intrusion on Others. No person shall disturb any picnic or intrude himself or herself on such picnic, without the consent of the parties composing the picnic. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. I, 9) 16-110. Posting of Notices. No person shall post or fix any notice or bill or other writing or printing of any kind on any tree, lamp post, hydrant, curb stone, coping, flagstone, fence, wall, building, or other place. Firearms and Air Rifles. Firearms, air rifles, or B-B guns may not be used or carried except by police or other authorized personnel. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 2) 16-123. Fires. Recreational fires are prohibited except in stoves or fireplaces provided for that purpose. No person shall thrown away or discard any lighted match, cigar, or cigarette. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 3) 16-124. Public Assemblages. No public meeting, assemblage, parade, or procession may take place without written permission of the Township Secretary. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 4) 16-125. Bicycles. Riding or driving bicycles or any other vehicle is not permitted except on roads and trails provided for such purposes or other posted areas. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 5) 16-126. Concession Stands. No person shall establish any booth, table, or stand for the sale of, nor hawk or sell, any article whatever, without the written permission of the Township Secretary. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 6) 16-127. Sports. Games, contests, or sports are permitted only in areas designed for such use, and in no case shall such use be permitted in areas where lawns or planting may be injured or where such games or contests may interfere with any of the regulations in this Part. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 7) 16-128. Use of Facilities by Nonresidents. No picnic or other gathering shall be held by citizens of communities other than Baldwin Township or by organizations from communities other than Baldwin Township, without first obtaining a written permit from the Township Secretary. 16-129 Township of Baldwin 16-131 16-129. Refuse Disposal. Persons holding picnics shall clean up and place all waste paper, litter, and other refuse in receptacles provided for that purpose. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 9) 16-130. Hours of Park Use. The hours during which all public parks and park areas and structures located thereon shall be open to the public shall be established by resolution of the Board of Commissioners from time to time and posted in the public parks and park areas and structures located thereon. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. II, 10; as amended by Ord. 224, 9/5/1972, 1) 16-131. Misuse of Tables and Benches. Persons lying on, sleeping on, or walking on picnic tables or benches is prohibited. No automobiles shall be permitted in the park except in such areas as shall be designated and suitably marked for that purpose, as directed by the Township Commissioners. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. III, 1) 16-142. Speed and Manner of Operation; Prohibited Vehicles. A rate of speed exceeding 10 miles per hour is prohibited. Operating any vehicle in a reckless or negligent manner, or in excess of the posted speed limit, is prohibited. The use of motor scooters, motorcycles, motorbikes, mini-bikes, or the like, is forbidden. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. III, 2) 16-7

Use of any park facilities will be subject to the regulations and/or permits granted by the Township where applicable. (Ord. 221, 5/1/1972, Art. IV, 1) 16-152. Penalties. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this Part, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days.
