OVERVIEW: The Golf Coaches Association of Peters Township (GCAPT) was founded in 2007 in order to contribute to the continued success of junior golf in Peters Township. We understand that the continued success of the golf program in Peters Township relies on the development of junior players who are technically competent, academically successful and prepared for the rigors and challenges of competitive junior golf. The GCAPT offers exceptional developmental programs in a focused learning environment to help each student maximize their potential. Whether a student is just being introduced to the game or is preparing to play competitively in high school or beyond, our goal is to offer them the best instruction and guidance available for them to reach their goals. FACILITIES: We are excited to announce that of our 2015 Spring golf schools will be held at Frosty Valley Golf Links located off of Boyce Rd. in Upper St. Clair and the Kuhn Golf Learning Center located at 157 Lakeview Drive in McMurray, PA. We will be keeping the Spring classes limited to 5 students per session in order to be able to use both facilities as dictated by the fall weather and provide personalized attention to our students. Frosty Valley is a 9-hole course with a country club atmosphere that is junior friendly and owned by Peters Township golf alumnus Dan Ruffing. Frosty Valley affords us the opportunity to work on a large practice putting green, grass driving range, and short game practice area where we can continue to develop our students motions and skills. The Kuhn Golf Learning Center is a private, state-of-the-art teaching studio that is owned by PTHS Head Boys Golf Coach and Master Teaching Professional David Kuhn. The facility was designed and built as a focused learning environment with maximizing students potential in mind. The Learning Center offers V1 Golf swing analysis, a full golf simulator for instructional use or course play, a TOMI putting lab and the latest in indoor putting and hitting surfaces and training equipment. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: All GCAPT instructional programs are based on the GCAPT / David Kuhn Golf Motion Curriculum. The Motion Curriculum was designed by Program Director David Kuhn after fifteen years of research and investigation into the optimal learning environment and progression for developing junior golfers. The Motion Curriculum is a skill-specific tiered approach that allows each student to develop at their own pace and to maximize their own unique abilities. The curriculum is a results-based approach that provides focus on the necessary skills to be a competent and competitive player.
