Rita s is located in Fishers at 8910 East 96 th Street. Iyana DeBro & Jainiah Harden, Cheerleading and Zach Pointer, Tennis DeBro and Harden, both freshman, have been pulled up to the varsity squad due to their hard work, positive attitude, and displaying the great qualities of Wildcat athletics, says head coach Jenn Sahagun. Pointer, a senior, came back from injury to pick up two wins at #1 singles last week, including a big win to help the Cats beat Lawrence Central 3-2 on Monday night. Great job, Wildcats!
Cheerleading/LN Fan Section: Our cheerleaders and fans tried to make the best out of the miserable weather on Friday night to cheer on the Wildcats during the Homecoming game. Members of the very first football team, our first head coach Doug Reeser and his staff, and members of the Class of 1978 came back to see the Wildcats in action.
Cross Country: The boys and girls cross country teams got rained out for the second time this season. The Ben Davis Invite was rained out and has been rescheduled for September 25 th. Both teams will be participating in the Yorktown Invitational this Saturday. Football: The Wildcat football team (2-2, 0-2 MIC) lost a hard fought game to North Central, 12-7. Keyto Stewart ran for 117 yards on 26 carries and scored the Cats only TD on a 19 yard run. Keyshawn Smith ran for 77 yards on 18 carries. The LN defense had another great effort, holding the high powered NC offensive to only 12 points. The Cats will battle the Carmel Greyhounds at home this Friday night for the Bill Duke Pigskin Trophy.
Girls Golf: The golf team got rained out last week and will look to get back in action today against Fishers, Wednesday against LC and Cathedral before the IHSAA Sectional next Monday. Girls Soccer: The Wildcats (7-1-1, 2-1 MIC) went 1-1 last week, losing at Carmel and then beating Heritage Christian. The Cats will travel to LC for a MIC conference game and the first Lawrence Derby. Similar to football and basketball, a traveling trophy will be presented to the winner of the annual regular season game. The team will travel to Center Grove for another MIC contest on Wednesday.
Boys Soccer: The Wildcats (2-8, 1-2 MIC) The Cats lost a close game to state ranked Carmel, 2-0 at home, and then played well in Great Midwest Classic against two state ranked teams from Illinois, losing close games. Despite the losses and a few injuries, the Cats are optimistic about the rest of the season. The team will play rival LC in the Lawrence Derby on Tuesday and then travel to Center Grove on Thursday.
Boys Tennis: The team lost a close match to Mt. Vernon, 2-3, with Zach Pointer and Kyle Manner winning for the Cats at #1 and #2 singles. The team got a big 3-2 win against rival LC on Monday night, with Pointer winning at #1 singles and the both doubles teams coming in with wins. The team will play be participating in the MIC championships later this week at Ben Davis.
Volleyball: The Wildcats (5-6, 2-0 MIC) went 1-1 last week, losing to Fishers but coming back to finish the week with a big win against rival Cathedral in front of a spirited home crowd, 25-19, 16-25, 25-21, 25-18. The Cats will play defending state champion New Castle on Monday and MIC rival Carmel on Tuesday.
