U10s U10 s Keilor White Keilor 8/128 def Airport west 8/115 Coach: Lachlan Sneddon Report: Tracey Hutchinson It had been drizzling most of the day and just when we were all about leave home the heavens opened up and we all thought for sure our game was going to be cancelled. The club sent a message out to turn up anyway, and luckily we did. The weather cleared and our game was on. Spencer and Ben were the first pair to shake out the after Christmas cobwebs with a combined partnership of 7. After a re-shuffle of our batsmen Lucas and Brody were the next pair. Good communication between them saw their partnership add an additional 17 runs to the tally. It was the third pair of Noah and Thomas that saw us add a whopping 64 runs to our total. All the boys batted extremely well and have grown a great deal in confidence. We finished off the innings with 88 runs. We then sent Airport West in to bat. They were a bit slow off the mark and our bowlers certainly had the upper hand throughout the entire game. Thomas was certainly the stand out with his 4 wickets. We managed to keep Airport West to only 75 runs and we took also took 8 wickets. It was a great win. Special mentions: An extra big shout out to Lachlan Sneddon for coaching the boys tonight. He did a great job. Bowling: Thomas 4/13 off 3 overs Noah 2/8 off 3 overs Spencer 1/9 off 3 overs Batting: Ben 2 Spencer 5 off 4 overs off 4 overs Lucas 4 Brody 13 Noah 42 Thomas 22 Next Game: 5/2/16 Keilor v Strathmore @ Boeing Reserve #4, Boeing Rd, Strathmore Heights. U10 s Keilor Blue Keilor 5/110 def St Bernards /64 Report and Coach: Dale Pixton Keilor Blue travelled to St.Bernards on a wet Friday night but managed to get the full game in. Kade was our captain & he won the toss & decided we would bat first. The combination of the wet wicket & the ball keeping low made batting difficult but we made a reasonable total of 85 off the bat. A partnership of 33 between Aidan & Mitchell was the standout. We knew we would have to bowl well to defend that total & all of the boys did a great job to restrict St.Bernards to only 39 off the bat so well done boys. A special mention goes to Joel for the best individual bowling I ve seen this season taking 3/0 off his 2 overs! Good win boys in the first game back from the break & look forward to another great effort this week. Batting Bowling Mitchell - 23 Joel - 3/0 Kade - 14 Mitchell - 2/1 Josh - 10 Josh - 1/15 Next Game: 5/2/16 Keilor v Aberfeldie Smith @ Keilor Rec Reserve. U10 s Keilor Gold Keilor 8/123 def St Bernards Blue 13/115 Report & Coach: Peter Cullen Friday night brought the return of cricket after the christmas break. Unfortunately the return did not bring great conditions. The boys were met with rain and a wet wicket, fortunately the rain stopped in time for the game to start. The team was Captained by Marco, he won the toss and decided to bat in the wet conditions. Brooklyn and Harrison opened the batting, St Bernards bowlers bowled a slow, straight line and with some good fielding made it very difficult to score. Brooklyn and Harrison scored 14 runs from their four overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Thomas and Captain Marco followed and steadied the ship, scoring 10 runs from their 4 overs without the loss of any wickets. Will and Finn were next in and followed the example set by Thomas & Marco scoring 9 runs from their fours overs without the loss of any wickets. Jacob and Lachlan can to the wicket they got off to a shaky start losing three wickets, they recovered during the last 2 overs to score 22 runs without loss of any wickets. Jacob decided to make the most of his free hits and struck two in row to the boundary. The boys made 58 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. With not many runs to defend the bowlers had to bowl nice and straight. Brooklyn and Jacob opened the bowling and were setting the example, Jacob claimed the first wicket, cleaned bowled with his last delivery. Thomas & Marco followed and the wickets fell thick and fast, During Thomas s first over they claimed three wickets, with some great bowling from Thomas and great fielding from the boys. Will and Finn stepped up to the bowling crease. Will cleaned bowled one, then the boys made 2 runs outs with the next two balls, A team hat trick. Some great fielding from all. Harrison and Lachlan bowled the last overs and claimed three wickets between them. A great bowling and fielding effort kept St Bernards to 75 runs with the loss of 13 wickets. Batting: Jacob (12), Harrison (8) & Will (7). Bowling: Jacob 4 overs for 4 runs, Will 4 overs for 5 runs & Thomas 4 overs for 5 runs. Under 12 Friday (3) Keilor 5/48 def by Aberfeldie 5/74 Friday 29th January 2016 Coach: Steve Thornton Match report: Ashleigh Thornton For our first game of 2016 we played Aberfeldie at our home game of Green Gully. Led by our captain Alastair Hayes, we started the night of well winning the toss and sending Aberfeldie out to bat. Kayne and Alastair opened the bowling, with Kayne striking with his second ball of the match. We took 3 wickets in the first five overs, with Kayne bowling superbly with the figures of 3/4 off his three overs. Great effort Kayne. The boys all bowled really well, limiting Aberfeldie to only 74 runs off their 20 overs. We then set out to chase Aberfeldies total, with Kobe and Will opening bat. The Aberfeldie bowlers put on a good display, bowling fantastically all innings, restricting us to only the 48 runs in our 20 overs. A good effort for our first game of the season! Special thanks to Darren Hayes who took of the coaching for the night. Thanks Darren! Next Game: 5/2/16 Keilor v St Andrews Pascoe Vale, Cole Reserve 3, Cumberland Road, Pascoe Vale.

U12s Under 12 D Grade Keilor 2/100 def Fawnker 97 Coach/Report: Joe Armocida Keilor played at Fawkner s home ground in sunning conditions. Luke Koefoed was our captain for this week s game, Keilor loss the toss and Fawkner sent us into bat. Batting The team did a great job of batting first only losing only 2 wickets. The opening pair were Koby Long (20 n/o) and Lachlan Cullen (3 n/o) which compiled an opening stand of 23 runs in the first 4 overs, both retiring not out. Koby s batting has improved out of sight, keep up the good work!!! (Well Done Boys!!!) The next three batman s were Luke.K (5 runs n/o), Luke. A (6 runs n/o) and Anton Z (4 runs n/o) and all the other batman s contributed to the scorecard. Great work boys!!! The running between wickets was a highlight of the day (Well Done Team!!!) Bowling It s was our turn to bowl and the team bowled a great line and length for most of the day. Fawkner struggled to score freely in the first half of their innings, due the pressure by Keilor in the field, hence producing four run out on the day The wickets were taken by :- Lachlan - 1 wickets for 2 Runs off 2 Overs (Great Bowling) Luke. K - 1 wicket for 7 Runs off 2 Overs Anton.A - 1 wicket for 6 runs off 2 Overs James. V - 1 wicket for 9 Runs off 2 Overs William - 1 wicket for 4 runs off 2 Overs Fielding The highlight in field was the three (3) outstanding catches by Luke. Armocida.. (Well Done Luke!!!) The other highlight was the 4 outstanding run outs:- Ben Veal hitting the stumps with a direct Hit. (off the bowling of Lachlan. Cullen) Mitch Pixton dropping a catch at squre leg, however recovered quickly with a quick flat throw to the wicket keeper (hit Wicket) (off the bowling of Lachlan. Cullen) Anton Zahra backing up the wicket keeper with a quick throw, back to the wicket Keeper (Hit Wicket) (off the bowling of Koby Long) James Veal hitting the stumps with a direct Hit. (off the bowling of Mitch Pixton) Xavier Hutchins, William Cuic, Aaron Perillo and Michael Cafari all fielded very well for the entire game Well done Boys!!! The game was won by Keilor because the team batted / bowled and field at the level required to win more times than not. Keep up the good work!!! Go Keilor!!!! Next Game: 6/2/15 Keilor v Youlden Parkville (3) @ Joe Brown Oval Keilor School. Under 12A Keilor 128 def Aberfeldie 8/115 Coach/Report: Albert Panaia First game back for the year saw a 1st vs 2nd match up with traditional rivals Keilor playing Aberfeldie. Abers won the toss and put our boys into bat first. Damp conditions made it difficult to score quick runs and Abers bowled reasonably well to keeps us at around 3 runs per over for the first half of the innings. However, the second half saw our boys respond well and with wickets in the shed, they picked up the run rate with some good hitting and quick running between the wickets. It was also great to see our boys have a team first mentality by running at every opportunity. Many of them only being run out by some great fielding and direct hits. After our 30 overs we finished with 128 runs. Top scorers were Akhmal 25n.o, Noah 20 and Kayne 13. We then set about to defend our reasonable score and although Ben picked up an early wicket, our bowling in the first stage of the innings was wayward and short. After 8 overs Abers were on 1/35 and on track to catch our total. Noah and Akhmal then entered the attack and immediately had an impact. With Akhmal bowling tight at one end, Noah was able to pick up wickets at the other. 5 overs later Abers were 5/39 and the game was just about over. A late flurry by the Abers batsmen saw them get past 100 but they were never really seriously threatening. Best bowling figures went to Noah with 4/6 from 4 overs. Ben, Akhmal and Josh took 1 wicket each. Tyson was outstanding as keeper taking 2 stumpings and a catch. A special mention to Ryan Cox who played his first u12a game and performed really well. Our boys sit 2 games clear on top of the ladder so the challenge now is to maintain the high standard and improve on the areas that will see the boys become the best cricketers they can be. Lower grade Under 14s are difficult when you play the first team for a club. We bowled first and bowled really well. Jayven was excellent taking 3 for 4, our fielding was also good with two run outs. After taking six wickets though we dropped our heads as they were able to put a partnership together. We will need to learn to keep positive when things don t go our way. We then struggled batting with Brian the only player to score double figures. To Glenroy s credit they did bowl extremely well and did not bowl many bad balls. Overall the kids still had fun and we still have a slight chance to make the finals if we win our final two games. A break through either end of Ryan s spell of overs removed their best batsmen which opened up the game.
