CPhI Angels Community Challenge 02 June - 10 June 2016 Camp Tsavo Our breathtaking Camp Tsavo is nestled amongst the Marungu Hills, adjacent to Rukinga Wildlife Sanctuary. This camp is the embodiment of tranquillity and truly embraces the glorious environment it is blessed to be within. Camp Tsavo offers so many great opportunities to be completely immersed in community life, which will leave you with a deep love of Kenya. Day 1: (2nd June) Karibu Kenya! You arrive into Mombasa airport where you will be met by a member of the local Camps International team and transferred to Camp Tsavo (approx. 3-5 hours). The camp is incredibly peaceful and provides a wonderful location to re-charge after your flight and immerse yourself into rural Kenyan life. Day 2-5: Primary School Project These 4 days will be spent working on some of the many vital projects at Sasyeni Primary School. Located within a 20 minute drive from camp, the school infrastructure is dilapidated and water is scarce. You will work on projects designed to directly improve infrastructure and promote greater learning opportunities for the children. You will also have the opportunity to meet the Headteacher at the school and learn about existing initiatives, including the invaluable feeding programme, which has been funded by The Global Angels Foundation. Day 6: School project and R&R afternoon You will continue with school project for the morning. In the afternoon we will take you to the nearby town of Voi where you have a free afternoon for shopping or exploring. Day 7: Mama Mercy and Conservation Today you have the privilege to visit Mama Mercy who is a true inspiration and a natural entrepreneur. You will learn more about Mama Mercy s impressive journey, leading a group of women to run a number of successful and profitable micro finance initiatives, within a hugely challenging environment. You will spend the rest of the day learning about the human-wildlife conflict that is so prevalent in the Tsavo region, and the insightful initiatives the locals use to mitigate such issues. In the afternoon all of the group will need to prepare to get dirty as you make paper from a material most unexpected! Day 8: Tsavo East National Park Safari Tsavo East National Park is home to an amazing variety of wildlife and during your safari day you could be lucky enough to spot elephant, lion, giraffe, zebra, cheetah, and so much more. Day 9: (10th June) Transfer to Mombasa Airport and depart or transfer to Diani for 3-night beach break (please note beach break is optional and not included within the package price) Community challenge costings 695 per person - includes all food, accommodation, in-country transfers and big game safari 500 donation to the Global Angels Foundation - 100% of these funds will be donated to the projects that you will work on during your time in Kenya.
