TENNIS QUEENSLAND STRATEGIC PLAN to 2020

Queensland tennis is delivered by an extraordinary community of passionate people; volunteers, operators, officials, coaches and administrators. With assistance and guidance from the tennis community, it is with great pleasure that we present the Tennis Queensland Strategic Plan to 2020. Our vision is to create a sport that engages all Queenslanders. From the best players, to the biggest fans, the littlest Hot Shots to the life members; tennis is a sport for all ages and abilities. We re moving into an exciting time for the sport in Queensland. Registered Player numbers have surpassed 70,000 thanks to the dedication of our affiliates, volunteers, coaches and teachers. Our introductory program, ANZ Tennis Hot Shots grows every year and with the recent launch of Hot Shots Match Play, we are seeing more kids playing in team-based, social and competitive environments that are encouraging them to continue with the sport for life. FORE- WORD Engagement with local government is stronger than ever, providing tennis with more opportunities to build courts in high demand areas of Queensland. The roll-out of Tennis Book a Court program promises to be a revolutionary and innovative way we reconnect with occasional and casual players. Our pinnacle event, the Brisbane International presented by Suncorp brings together the wider tennis community every year in an incredible celebration of our sport. The grassroots opportunities aligned with the event are growing significantly, showcasing to the world the best of local tennis. Similarly, our star players including Samantha Stosur, Ashleigh Barty and John Millman demonstrate not just Queensland s talent on the global stage, but also the values and behaviours that we are proud to stand for as a sport. Through the Strategic Plan to 2020, we will continue innovating the delivery of tennis to empower our stakeholders as we build a pathway for all players to enjoy the game. This will be supported by plans to build more inviting community facilities across the state. This plan is the work of many and we take this moment to thank our tennis community for their commitment to building a thriving future for tennis in Queensland. MARK BLOOMFIELD President GEOFF QUINLAN CEO 3
