Busan Super Cup International Yacht Race 2012 Suyoung Bay, Busan 2012. 5. 4 ~ 5. 6 is authorized by Busan Sailing Federation in conjunction with City of Busan and KNN, sponsored by Sungwoo Hightech Co., Ltd. Notice of Race 1. RULES 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012, ORC/IRC regulations, particularly assigned handicap rating system for this regatta and Sailing Instructions. 1.2 If there is a conflict between NOR and SI, SI will take precedence. This changes RRS 63.7. 2. ADVERTISING Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. 3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 3.1 This regatta is open to mono hull keel boats in the ORC, IRC and Open classes. Length of the boats should be more than 7m.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by completing the attached form and sending it, together with the required fee(receipt of payment) and valid ORC/IRC certificate for this year, to sailingbusan@gmail.com by 6 th of April 2012 17:00. 3.3 Late entry and changes to entry will be accepted along with 1.5 times the entry fee by 11 th of April 17:00. For any entry later than 11 th of April, its acceptance will depend on the decision of organizing authority. 3.4 Entered boats shall register at the race office on 4 th of May, from 09:00 to 17:00. 3.5 The minimum number of crews on a boat should be 3. 3.6 Each class cannot be established with less than 10 boats. In this case, participants can choose other classes instead. 4. MEASUREMENT Busan Super cup official measurer will check the measurement of ORC/IRC class. 7. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS The sailing instruction will be available after 09:00 on 4 th of May at the Race Office. 8. VENUE Attachment 1. shows the location of the racing areas. 9. PENALTY SYSTEM 9.1 Rule 44.1 and 44.2 will apply. 9.2 International Jury will consist according to RRS Appendix N, and the decision will be final as provided in rule 70.5. 10. SCORING A boat s series score will be the total of her race scores.
11. RACE COMMITTEE BOAT Official race committee boat will display the flag assigned by OA. 12. BERTHING Boats shall be kept in their assigned places in the harbor. 13. HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS Boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta except with and according to the terms of prior written permission of the race committee. 14. The winner of ORC class will be the champion of Busan Super Cup. 15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule4, Decision to Race. The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
16. PARTICIPATION SUBSIDY Participation subsidy will be provided according to each boat s sailing distance to the venue as follows: Distance Amount Over 20 miles Over 50 miles Over 100 miles Japanese and Russian Chinese 700,000 KRW 1,000,000 KRW 1,500,000 KRW 2,000,000 KRW 3,000,000 KRW United International team - This clause excludes the boats mooring at the Suyoung Marina (the venue).
