IM Leagues Players must be on roster in order to play in the game. IM Leagues should filter that the student is both eligible to play and is not already on another roster; captains are expected to verify this.

Highlights Current CMU students & Faculty/Staff - Bring Picture ID 2 club basketball player limit per team, 1 former varsity basketball player limit Show up to your game, or call ahead before 5 pm on business day prior to your game day Be good sports Be a Team of the Week Get on IM Dimes Responsible for your teammates and your fans Don t drink and play, alcohol-free zone Supervisors can withhold you from play due to injury or other reasons
Equipment Equipment Balls are available for checkout for warm-ups at fitness center, GAME BALL PROVIDED or bring your own to pre-game captains meeting Whoever checks out equipment is responsible for it. If equipment is not returned they will be charged. Similar colors make the away team wear pinnies, check on IM Leagues for your opponents colors Provide YOUR OWN numbered shirts/jerseys (similar color) Jerseys available for checkout LAST RESORT! Jewelry - medical bracelets and wedding bands (all else removed or taped)
Rules Highlights
General Information Team captains are responsible to read all rules and inform team members Provide YOUR OWN numbered shirts/jerseys (similar color) Jerseys available for checkout LAST RESORT! Teams should arrive 15 minutes before game time Teams consist of 5 players COREC 3:2 ratio (no more than 3 of a single gender) Minimum of 4 players to start game COREC has to be 2:2 if starting with 4
Timing/Overtime 1 st half stops in final minute; 2 nd half stops in the final 2 minutes. Two 30 second time-outs per half, do not carry over Must be called by a player on court ONE 3 minute OT period (tie game if tied then) For Playoffs, as many 3-minute overtime if game is tied at the end of regulation as needed One time-out in overtime period
Substitutions Must check in at official s table, beckoned in by official Legal substitutes only Injured player/blood on player - must be substituted for unless there is a time-out
Dunking/3pt-Line In game dunking is allowed in Men s and Women s games. Not allowed in CoRec Result: Technical Foul Absolutely no dunking before, after game or during stoppages of play Result: Technical Foul Absolutely no hanging on the rim unless to protect oneself Result: Technical Foul Playing the 20 9 college 3-point line (yellow line)
Legal Guarding Position/ Block vs Charge Legal Guarding Position Facing offensive player, in bounds (can turn afterwards) 5 seconds Within 6 ft of opponent Broken when offense does something, gains gap, breaks plane of shoulders Block v. Charge Defender must beat the offensive player to the spot Can move laterally and backward, not forward into contact Nothing to do with feet being set No half circle under rim Entitled to space above them (Verticality)
Other Rules Over and back All three points must cross (two feet and the ball) Front court/back court position of ball 10 second count (ball needs to get into the front court) 3 second violation Screens
Free Throws Shooting Fouls Players in the lane can move when ball is released. Not occupying the bottom spot Shooter and people outside lane cross free throw line extended or three point arc until ball hits rim. 1 and 1 Bonus On seventh foul bonus is in effect On tenth foul double bonus is in effect No bonus on player or team control fouls
Technical Fouls A. Unsportsmanlike foul - technical foul which is given for unfair, unethical or dishonorable conduct B. Illegal substitution C. Illegal time out D. Grasp either basket or net HANGING ON THE RIM E. Intentionally causing the opponent's backboard to vibrate while the ball is in flight during a try or is touching the backboard or is on or in the basket or the cylinder F. Delay of game (no warning!) G. Dunking the ball before, during stoppages of play and halftime, or after the game can cost your team the game H. Too many players on the court J. Reaching over the out of bounds line and hitting the ball Illegal Equipment *Shooting technical free throws this season. If a double technical foul is called no points are awarded and the alternating possession rule applies. 3 unsportsmanlike T s is a team forfeit 2 T s per player is an ejection, can eject after 1 st depending on severity 5 personal fouls results in fouling out

Playoffs - Teams with the following make playoffs: - 2 wins - 3.0 Sporting Rating - No forfeits - Online Playoff Draw - Friday 2/19 5:30 pm - Playoffs begin 2/21
