Each man in turn crosses to the side of his partner and stays on the women s side till he reaches the top. At the top, he and his partner stand still on their own sides for one turn, at the end of which the woman crosses over to her partner s right hand side as the next couple steps up the women s side and then they dance down the men s side. At the bottom, each couple stands on own side for one turn before the man crosses over to his partner as she steps up; then they dance up the women s side.
