WHEN & WHERE Arrival/Departure Your You Retreats Tahiti experience begins the moment you set foot on Moorea island. Air Travel For your convenience Air Tahiti Nui, the preferred You Retreats Tahiti air travel service, they or we can assist you in making your airline reservations. They can be reached at groups@airtahitinui.co.nz or Tel :(64 9) 972 1217. NOTE: When flying to Tahiti from Australia, (participants travelling from Australia and Singapore) will arrive later in the evening. You ll arrive the same day usually, as you leave your destination and when you return also. When flying to Tahiti from the United States, you will cross the International Dateline and lose a day. You make up this day when returning. Because of this change, depending on the departure date and airline, nearly all flights from the USA will arrive in Tahiti very early the second day after the date of your departure. If you re unsure of any travel arrangements please contact us and we will give you the best information to find suitable flights and times for you to purchase. Make sure once you have purchased your ticket, you must email it to us in order to receive transfers from airport to your accommodation. Airport Papeete is your first Tahitian destination. From Papeete, you will take a short 45-minute ferry ride to Moorea island where You Retreats Tahiti is located. Please make your flight reservations with Air Tahiti Nui and send hello@youretreats.com.au your itinerary so we can organise a shuttle from Papeete to your first night accommodation on the main island of Tahiti before travelling to Moorea the next day. Passport If your itinerary contains international flights, it is the sole responsibility of each passenger in the itinerary to have the proper documents for entry/re-entry into a country. To obtain documentation requirements, contact the embassy or consulate of all countries involved in your itinerary, including all countries in which you may be transiting. Currency Exchange Assistance with currency exchange is available at http://www.xe.net/ucc. The hotel will provide EFTPOS facilities for international cards. Please check your bank international fees and rates prior to attending to make the appropriate arrangements. We find it is easier, time efficient and sometimes cheaper to withdraw currency from the airport when you arrive. If you intend on doing this, please take the precautions in order to keep your funds safe. You will only require a small amount of Tahitian currency on the island as all large items are covered. ACCOM & ATTIRE Accommodations The first-night stay will be on Papeete and You Retreats will be organising your room and location, this resort has not been confirmed. Your second to sixth-night stay will be at the renowned Intercontinental Moorea. It has unique accommodations including Lanai lagoon balcony rooms, garden bungalows, beachfront bungalows and overwater bungalows. Included in your package is a Lanai Room with a plunge pool, king bed with a terrace/balcony. If you have opted for the upgrade, you will be staying in an overwater bungalow similar to that in the image on this page. The Intercontinental Moorea holds; The Moorea Dolphin Centre, a turtle care centre, a dive centre, water sports facilities, several boutiques, a bar, restaurant and the renowned Hélène Spa. Visit http://moorea.intercontinental.com Attire The dress is casual and comfortable throughout the retreat. The seminar rooms can be extremely cold, so please bring a light jacket or sweater. You may want to bring a pair of throw away sneakers in case you trail walk and reef shoes for snorkelling and reef walking. Athletic clothes are recommended for some optional activities. IMPORTANT INFORMATION Registration The hosts will be organising your accommodation and stay requirements when you arrive to Moorea. You will be given a You Retreats Tahiti information pack to guide you around the schedule and hotel. Tuition All event tuition fees must be paid 90 days in advance. We are not equipped to receive event tuition payments on Moorea island. Participants arriving in Tahiti without having paid tuition in full in advance will not be admitted to the event and will not be able to check into the resort. Important All questionnaires and signed Terms and Conditions must be received by us no later than 90 days prior to the start of your You Retreats Tahiti experience. Participants who fail to reserve their travel with Air Tahiti and accommodation with us 90 days in advance will be responsible for event transfer fees or forfeiture of attendance at You Retreats Tahiti if the travel or hotel resources are no longer available for their confirmed event dates. If the event you wish to attend is prior to the 90 days time frame, please contact our hosts for further information. Any necessary visas for international clients 2 pairs of Running shoes Sunblock and tanning lotion Tea tree oil (for insect bites) can be purchased at most health food stores Cameras Please keep on you or in the room safe if not in use. Hat or visor to protect against the sun Bug repellent (we recommend SKIN OFF with aloe vera by Johnson & Johnson) Thongs/ Havaianas/ Sandals Swimwear/ Bathing suit T-shirts and shorts Electrical Plug converter- Electrical power in French Polynesia is 220Volts - 60Hz. Electric outlets are the same as in Continental Europe with two round holes. Most hotels have 110 Volts outlets for electrical shavers and adapters for US plugs with flat jacks. If your appliances work only with 110V, they will need a transformer. Ask before plugging in anything! SUGGESTED ITEMS Reef shoes (Nike and many other companies make them) for snorkeling and reef walking Airplane neck pillow for the trip Games, cards, frisbees, etc. Extra swimsuits ipod/mp3 player Medicine if you need any, please bring an extra supply, as, again there s no corner drug store if you run out! COMFORTABLE, COOL & CASUAL is the rule for Tahiti. The culture is relaxed but sometimes modest, which means that at meals, shirts and cover-ups are necessary.
