About the Course Manor of Groves boasts a superb 18-hole championship course set in 150 acres of beautiful rolling Hertfordshire countryside, which provides a true test of golfing ability. Our par 71, 6,237-yard layout has been subject to a large investment of time and effort over the last couple of years to improve the already fine design. The Golf course was opened in 1990 with 9 holes that are now holes 4 to 12 being converted from established mature parklands. The remaining holes were introduced in 1992 using the natural countryside landscape and are now fully established maturing year by year. Divided into two differing nine hole loops, the front nine weaves in and around the old manor gardens whilst the back nine has wide sweeping fairways stretching out over stunning parkland. The course has excellent drainage, allowing a full 12 months of golf in all but extreme circumstances. A full calendar of events are organised by our Members Committee during the year. In addition to this, an exciting social calendar of Member s events are on offer. With a comfortable Club House, Manor of Groves is ideal for all golfers including visiting societies. Our dedicated Golf Executives work closely with Society Organisers to ensure that your day is a success. Whether you are looking for a small group of 12 or a large society for 150 people followed by a gala dinner we can help. Dress Code During the summer months if shorts are worn they must be tailored. No jeans, trainers, tracksuits or collarless/football/sports shirts to be worn on the course. The dress code for the clubhouse is open and all we ask is our members and their guests to dress appropriately for the occasion. We regret that visitors to The Manor of Groves will not be allowed on the Course unless they are suitably attired. Golf shoes must have Soft Spikes (winter exceptions apply). Golfers must not share golf bags. Pagers or mobile phones must be on silent mode. Occasionally during the winter we implement a trolley ban. Please ensure that all players are aware of the etiquette of the game, e.g. pace of play repairing pitch marks replacing divots dress code etc. At all times we would ask you to respect this policy. Management reserve the right to refuse admission to the Clubhouse or Course. Course Closure The Course may be closed at short notice due to bad weather conditions and at the discretion of the General Manager and Golf Director. The Manor of Groves will advise the Organiser as soon as possible, on the rare occasion that this may occur, the Organiser will be offered alternative dates. In the event of bad weather, pre booked buggies/trolleys may be cancelled. Buggies Buggies are to be paid for on arrival at the Club in the Professional Shop. In the event of damages the hirer will be liable for repair.
Liability The Manor of Groves cannot accept responsibility or liability for loss or damage to personal belongings. Customers who wish to leave belongings on the premises do so at their own risk. For damage to property or injury to persons where such damage or injury occurs as a result of management negligence, Manor of Groves has public liability cover. It is the responsibility of the visitor to ensure that they have adequate cover to compensate for loss or damage to property in any other circumstances. Course Be on your starting tee 10 minutes before your tee time. PLEASE BE AWARE WE ALLOW 13 MINUTES PER HOLE so please ensure you are at your 10 th hole within 2 hours of the start of your round. IF YOU LOSE ONE HOLE FROM GROUP IN FRONT, YOU MUST ALLOW THE GROUP BEHIND YOU TO PLAY THROUGH. But preferably try to keep pace with the game in front. At all times we would ask you to respect this policy, Management reserve the right to refuse admission to the Clubhouse or Course. We would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation.

Stansted Airport is approximately 10 minutes drive from this beautifully restored Georgian Manor House. The stunning architecture and picturesque grounds provide a backdrop for your special day and make the Manor of Groves an ideal wedding venue. The Hotel offers a choice of banqueting rooms, plus two outside Gazebos, which are licensed for wedding ceremonies. For wedding receptions, the Manor Suite with its beautiful glass conservatory overlooking the Oriental Garden can cater for up to 400 guests. The Colonnade Room, with its Georgian elegance, overlooking the garden and Golf Course can accommodate up to 120.
