The event will be held in Mafra, village known worldwide for its convent, the greatest work of Portuguese Baroque, built in the eighteenth century, during the reign of King John V. The competition will take place in the facilities of the Military Riding and Sports School, founded in August de 1911. Pag. 5 0f 16

4. Rules and special participation conditions The Championships will be held under international TREC rules by FITE (conditions 1-1-2012). By submitting their entries all federations and participants accept the TREC rules of FITE. The participation is the rider s own risk. The Organizing Committee will NOT be responsible for any damage caused by athletes, their horses, officials, their employees/grooms or their representatives. The veterinary inspection is not warranty for the health of the horses. * Senior World TREC Championship: Each nation may send a team of max. 6 qualified riders, 21 years old (in the year of competition); * Young Riders World TREC Championship: Each nation may send a team of max. 6 qualified riders minimum age of 16 years old (in the year of competition) up to 21 years old (in the year of the event); Portugal as the organizing nation can participate with a senior team, a young rider team, six individual senior riders and six individual young riders. * Horses: Minimum age of 6 years old and at least 1,30 m height. 5. Insurances: All athletes, owners, trainers, chef s d equipe are personally responsible for damages to third persons caused by themselves, their employees/grooms, or horses. Each rider must have a sufficient insurance protection that covers participation in competitions abroad. Pag. 8 0f 16
6. Horse Passports: Is compulsory a valid national passport for their identification with: - Horse diagram - Person responsible/ owner - Record of vaccination against Equine Influenza, according to the FEI veterinary regulations, appendix VI (current version 2009). 7. Health Certificate: On the arrival and before entering the stables, is required to have on hand the originals of health certificates and supporting documents required for the transport. a) Horses from an EU member state, a health certificate according to appendix B of the guideline 90/426. b) Horses from a non EU member state, a health certificate according to appendix II consignment 92/260. 8. Horse inspection/ equipment control: Each team must present their horses as well the accompanying documents on Friday 7 th, September 2012, according to the timetable, within the zone therefore reserved. The equipment control zone will be communicated in time. 9. Medication Control: The World TREC Championships is organized according with the FEI medication control and Anti-doping rules and the Portuguese regulations for Anti -doping. 10. Code of conduct: The organizing committee expects that all involved in this event adhere to the FEI s Code of Conduct and accept all the times that the welfare of the horse must never be subordinated to competitive influences. Judges: Each participant nation nominates one international judge. Accommodation and meals will be paid by the organizing committee from Friday evening until Monday morning. First meeting for all judges, Friday 1:30 pm. Travel costs are not covered by the Organizing Committee. If each nation wishes to send more than one judge, they will be welcome, but the organizing committee won t be able to pay for their expenses. They can choose to come as an accompanying person.
