Registration for end of year awards are $25 per person for the season. You must be registered before the show begins for points to count towards end of year awards. You may register at any show. *Trophies for 1st place are awarded in EVERY class at EVERY show! Minimum of 3 riders per class. Blue ribbons will be substituted if minimum is not met. ASTM APPROVED HELMETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL RIDERS UNDER 18 Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner available in our air-conditioned Clubhouse, with Arena viewing! EQUESTRIAN CENTER 12118 Ellis Rd. Highland, IL 62249 EQUINE ACTIVITY RELEASE FROM LIABILITY Following the Illinois Equine Activity Liability Act 745 ILCS 47/1 Et. Seq. The undersigned participant, or if minor, his or her parent or guardian, releases the Highland Saddle Club Equestrian Center and Riding Instructor Michele Jones-Vargas, from any liability that may result from the undersigned s participation in all horse-related activities, including but not limited to bodily injury, and physical harm to horse, rider and spectator. By the signing of this Equine Activity Release from Liability, the risks that the participant accepts include but are not limited to the following: 1. The propensity of an equine, which includes horses, ponies, mules, donkeys or hinnies, to behave in ways that may result in injury, harm, or death to the persons on or around them, including the participant; 2. The propensity of an equine to be unpredictable in its reaction to sounds, sudden movement, and unfamiliar objects, persons, other animals, or other things, including the participant; 3. The possibility of an equine to encounter the hazards of surface or subsurface conditions that could result in injury to the participant; 4. The possibility of an equine colliding with other equines or objects that could result in injury or even death to the participant and/or equine; and 5. The potential of the participant or other participants to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to injury and/or death to the participant or other, such as failing to maintain control over the equine or not acting within his or her ability. WARNING Under the Illinois Equine Activity Liability Act, each participant who engages in an equine activity expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and legal responsibility for injury, loss, or damage to person or property resulting from the risk of equine activities. By signing this Equine Activity Release From Liability, the undersigned participant or, if minor, his or her parent or guardian, acknowledges that they and all of their heirs, legatees and assigns now and forever waives any right of suit it may have against the Highland Saddle Club Equestrian Center, its Officers, Board of Directors or Members, and Riding Instructor Michele Jones- Vargas, resulting from equine activities. The participant or, if a minor, his or her parent or guardian, further acknowledges that this Equine Activity Release from Liability shall remain valid until expressly revoked in writing by the participant or, if a minor, his or her parent or guardian. I have signed this Equine Activity Release from Liability freely and willingly, without any pressure of any kind from anyone. I fully understand all of the contents of this Equine Activity Release from Liability and acknowledge that I have received instruction on the proper use of the grounds.
