Sponsorship Opportunities for the 7th Annual Bulldog Golf Classic Hosted By The Bowie State University Department of Athletics Chaired by Jerry Sherman COO IVisioNET GREETINGS BULLDOG NATION! Bowie State University Athletics continues to race to excellence, developing a culture of success for our student-athletes through academic success, social enhancement and quality athletic participation. During the 2017-18 academic year, our athletic programs continued to shine on the field of competition with outstanding performances in several sports. The football team competed in their 3rd NCAA football playoff contest, and hosted our first NCAA playoff contest. Amir Air Hall, our record setting quarterback, was named the Black College Football Player of the Year. The women s basketball program finished second in the CIAA championship tournament, earned a NCAA at-large playoff berth and shocked the world by advancing to the NCAA elite eight. The women s bowling team continues to roll capturing their 4th consecutive CIAA championship, and 8th overall, advancing to the NCAA playoffs. Amir Hall BSU Bulldog Quarterback 2017 Black College Football Deacon Jones Player of the Year; Doug Williams Offensive Player of the Year; Two-time 1st Team All-Conference (CIAA); 2016 CIAA Offensive Player of the Year Despite all of the athletic accomplishments, victories are finite while success is eternal. BSU athletics seeks success in all three phases of the BSU mission, academic excellence, student success and institutional viability. The inaugural AD s honor roll recognized 81 student athletes in the fall of 2017 and 59 in the spring of 2018. These student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.25 or better to earn a place on the honor roll; Got Grades is our AD honor roll motto and we are working hard to improve the academic success of our student-athletes. Together we can create victories! To achieve sustainable success, we seek your support of our 7th annual Bulldog Golf Classic as a sponsor and golfer. Once again, we will tee off at the beautiful Woodmore Country Club with an exciting day of golf and comradery among friends. In addition to an outstanding day of golf, BSU s tennis coach, Paul Brown, will host a tennis clinic and tournament. The funds raised help BSU athletics to continue our journey of success and provide necessary funding for student-athlete development, academic support and community enrichment. As we continue to improve our infrastructure, we have strategic needs moving forward. Every dollar raised will be allocated with great purpose to ensure the greatest return on your generosity. If you cannot attend, please consider making a monetary donation in support of this worthy cause. I look forward to seeing you on October 9th. Go Bulldogs! Clyde M. Doughty, Jr. Director of Intercollegiate Athletics
