THE FACTS The Ladies First Hockey Foundation specifically supports the Canadian National Women s Hockey Team and Development Program. YOU CAN BE A DIFFERENCE MAKER Consider yourself an honorary teammate. We compete for our country; we train for success and when all the hard work is done and our blades hit the ice, you can make a difference towards our achievements and what we strive to become. Support through events such as the Ladies First Hockey Foundation s Good as Gold is a major difference maker for players as we train, work part-time, attend school and even raise our own families, all the while trying to build towards our dream of representing our Country to the highest. These events are also an opportunity to us to personally show our appreciation to those in attendance for their generosity and dedication in supporting the players of Team Canada and the sport of women s hockey. If it were not for the patience, dedication, understanding and never-ending love our families share with us, we wouldn t be where we are today. And if it were not for the friends and supporters of the Ladies First Hockey Foundation, and the money raised by events such as Good as Gold, many of our family members would not be able to be with us for those big Olympic moments.
