Athlete Registration Online process

Athletics Online Registration Starting winter of 2017, the mymcps Parent Portal link for Athletic Registration opens for parents/guardians to go on-line and register their student athletes for winter sports at their local high school, parents must login through the portal to access the registration. The portal takes the place of almost all of the MCPS required specific forms for participation in the interscholastic athletics program that are listed below. These forms are also available en Español online and through the portal. Parent/guardians click here for step by step instructions on how to register your winter student-athlete for interscholastic athletics. Required Forms for Student Participation in Athletics Students must complete and submit the following form prior to participating in practices or tryouts. This form may be attached at the time of submitting the online registration or turned in to the athletic director. Pre-participation Physical Evaluation Form (MCPS Form SR-8) - The Pre-participation Physical Evaluation Form is valid for one year (for high school athletes) and two years (for middle school athletes) from the date of the exam, and covers participation for all sports within that time period. Students submit only the last page to the school/coach (Clearance Form). Schools keep the forms on file. A partial list of Clinics that offer Sports Physicals within the Montgomery County area is available online.

Tryout Policy

TRYOUT POLICY FOR B-CC ATHLETICS & IMPORTANT DATES Fall season tryouts begin August 8 2018, Winter season November 15, and Spring Season March 1. All seasons have challenges with summer vacation, winter break, and spring break. The athletic department and coaching staff reserved the right to examine student-athlete participation on a case by case basis for circumstances beyond the athletes control (family move, death in the family, etc ) Offering tryouts outside the scheduled dates is not a fair method to be used for team selection as we would have to offer this to all athletes in all sports and this would just not be possible. The tryout policy is the same for all sports- you must be present for tryouts and available for practices, scrimmages, and games immediately after going forward for the entirety of the season.

HS Athletics is a privilege, not a right B-CC high school is a large high school with over 2100 students and projected to be near 2400 in just a few short years. High school sports showcase the best athletes in the school. Tryouts will take place for all teams and it is up to the criteria of the coaches for team selection. Coaches determine who plays, where they play and for how long.
