Cape Air has rolled out a new fare structure in the Montana markets. Our fares now start from $29 each way! This is a tiered structure and the availability of the fares is based on the historical load factor per flight. So, the consumer will see tickets starting at $29 and going up in $10 increments with the very last seat at $69 or $79. Chat with Christine Pray for rain. A daily sentiment in my household at the moment. Last night s rain was welcomed but it did not reach into the edges of the family farm south of Wibaux so today I started again with the thought and deed, pray for rain. Not only does the looming dry weather affect crop and cattle, it affects our seasonal businesses such as the firework vendors who are also shut down before they begin. Planting, tending, harvesting rule the rhythm of life where we live and I see the worry in the faces of my family, neighbors, friends and know I worry with you. We are a village whose strength lies in are ability to thrive and sacrifice together. It is one of the true gifts I love about the prairies of SE Montana communities. But even in worry, life goes forward. ShopGlendive members and other local retailers are planning for a return of the community wide Crazy Dayz Sales, July 21-22. The folks continue to plan the county fair which will see a return of good old-fashioned family fun activities. Baseball games are played nightly down the block and swim team practice happens daily as local kids train for the next meet. Remember if you have summer events to email: events@glendivechamber.com so we can get them on the community events calendar. Guests coming? We have maps, and area ideas to showcase all they can choose to do while they are here. Want to fill an afternoon? Volunteer in the Chamber Visitor Center. (Thank you to Margie Mandigo, who spends two hours every Tuesday, stocking and refilling informational racks.) I encourage all of you to find something on our events calendar and go enjoy. Support or local youth activities. Visit Makoshika, fish the Yellowstone, walk a trail through town that you have not tried before. Enjoy dinner over the Yellowstone and support our local Art Gallery. Life here may at times come with worry, but the richness of what we can do here together often takes no money and only an investment in time and each other. Enjoy the summer and the outdoor freedom it provides and get out there and Live Glendive!
